I also saw something on the evening news about this one, too. I remember at the time, that I thought to myself that I didn't recall ever hearing about tornadoes in Mexico. From the news film I saw, it looked really bad. What a tragedy for those people who lost their lives.
its amazing the destruction only 6 seconds caused.
and yeah tornados are very rare. We had a few F0's in the central states of Mexico and many waterspouts.. but nothing as strong as this.

This was "Sometimes Island" near Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis, about 10 min. down the road from us, recently. Also referred to as "All-the-time Peninsula" in recent years...
