By appetizers I meant turning a half pork loin into katsu bites, a few pounds (dogs) into pigs in a blanket, sausage bread, large batches of hummus, several trays of crackers, a few types of "cheese" a few veggie trays, lots of stuffed mushrooms, a couple of cooked/pickled veggie platters, chips and dips (sauteed onion and salsas)
In other words catering for my boys or a wedding of 50+
Ok maybe a possibility then. 😉

We had 18 inches of rain in less than 24 hours from that storm going up the coast. I have never seen that much rain even during my time in Vietnam during the monsoons. The only bridge into where we live got washed out on Saturday night , the county is supposed to cut a road so we can get to the main highway who knows how long that will take. Normally it is just a tidal creek that drains the national forest all that rain turned it into a raging river gotta watch out for displaced alligators and snakes now. guess it could have been worse if it was snow

We came through as the heavy rain was hitting you. It was no picnic! I took pix of the sides with lots of water. We haven’t seen that much rain near Charleston ever. Hopeful it will recede quickly.

Found our Golden Girls house, 7 bedrooms, walking distance to Disney and UNI, garden, pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, LANAI all we need is the 12+ mil:hilarious:

If it is walking distance from both, that must be one long house. If located in the middle it is a 7.5 mile walk to either. I'd be pretty tired by the time I got there. 🥵🫠🥱 Besides, how good can a house be if it's only $12mil. It's probably unfurnished as well.;) And the neighborhood is probably run down and dangerous, think of the children! 😱

Gators and snakes are surely a danger. When the retention ponds overflowed in a Cat 3 hurricane years ago the creatures visited our neighborhood streets and lawn areas. It does make good eating though, deep fried gator nuggets with dipping sauce washed down with an ice cold Corona.

Lots of rain here yesterday, all day. Luckily, we didn't lose power, but a friend of ours at the other side of the city was without for close to 15 hours. (Winds were up, and the repairmen can't get up in the buckets if a tree or pole is down, when the wind is too high for their safety.)

More flooding from rivers up in NH and Maine. Particularly up in the mountains, the ground was frozen to begin with (some snow & ice), so when the torrents of rain hit, the soil could not absorb all the water. Some roads and bridges also washed out.

Stay safe. Don’t go out unless you need to. 😊
