Any local place here is going to have good crab cakes, MD crab soup, etc. And it's usually the places that have "tavern" in the name or that look like they're holes-in-the-wall that have the best stuff.
I am not a bit surprise about places with "tavern" in the name have the best stuff. Bars and Taverns can be overlooked for food depending if it is in a city or a small village/town. Bar food does not get overlooked in small villages unlike cities.

I grew up with food that came from a bar. I also get food from 2 different bars in Door County with one of them being a BBQ place. You could tell it is bar by when you first walk in being seeing a pool table, a bar counter with chairs, and have tv in bar section.

What I mean by growing up with food that came from a bar is when I was growing up, there was a bar less than 2 blocks away from where my parents lived. That bar had a business inside a business. The business inside the bar had Pizza as one of the words of the place. That business had pizza and char boiled sandwiches and brought people to the bar.

You were able to get that pizza home and bring home the sandwiches also. My dad brought food home from that bar once in a while growing up for the family. They had a char boiled sandwich with Half pound Italian sausage with sauce and cheese along another sandwich that is char boiled steak and cheese sandwich.

Already finished my Christmas shopping ya slacker.
I finished my Christmas shopping for my younger brother, but didn't start for anyone else yet. I bought him 10 used video games that were on his list.

I do not have Christmas decorations up, but I did buy a good amount of bags of Christmas candy at Menard's this week for 2 Christmas themed candy dishes I have.

Menard's has a 11 percent off everything sale including Christmas Candy. Menard's is a home improvement retail chain, but they do have sections in their stores that have nothing to do with home improvement such as food.

@MinnieM123 , I watched the auction all the way ‘til the end.
This one was kinda’ all over the place, for me. So many lots went for much more than I thought they would, and so many others went for much less than I thought they would, to the point that more than once I thought to myself “Hey, I coulda’ bought that…!!!”…!!!!! :hilarious:
Anyway, I’ll be watchin’ again tomorrow…!!! :)

The addition of candy is an improvement to any home.

I was watching sporadically, so I missed some.

Yet, in agreement with you -- I was perplexed by the sales prices on some of them -- either way lower than what I expected, or way higher for some cars I didn't like. 🤔

My favorite car was the 1969 Chevrolet COPO* Camaro (*Central Office Production Order), in Daytona Yellow, with white interior. That went for $117,500. Meanwhile, a 1956 gorgeous peacock blue & white, white-walled tires, T-Bird convertible, only sold for $25,000.

Today is Saturday, so Mecum will be rolling out the big guns  that they've been teasing in the promos, as they always do! (Can't watch all 6 hours, but will be watching segments, and seeing which vehicles Matt the Hat get excited about today!) :joyfull:

The one good thing about my body still being on daylight time is I was up, cleaned out the fridge and scrubbed it down seeing it was just about empty, showered, did my hair and had time for a really good relaxing cup of coffee :joyfull: all with time to spare before heading out to refill the fridge

I used to go to Golden Corral on Veteran's day and it was nice of them, but it wasn't a lot of fun. The place was a mad house and like any act of charity, it also was beneficial to GC as well. Most veterans went with family members that otherwise wouldn't be going so their sales must go through the roof. I'm glad they benefit because it is a nice thing they do, but just not worth it for me. I am crazy, but I don't like being surround by it.
