That makes sense. Cats are carnivores. Dogs are omnivores. So dogs can have things like peanut butter, veggies, and such, so it makes sense that there are dog safe cookie recipes.

Every now and then, giving cats homemade food is fine. But generally, you should give them store bought stuff. There is a mineral called taurine that cats need in order to survive. It gets added to their store-bought food.

We let my cat Ella have a little bit of lunch meat when she wants it. We used to let my cat Belle have a little bit of whipped cream because she was obsessed with it (my vet okayed this). But other than that, all of my cats have been strictly on store bought stuff.
I'm confused, how did cats, that weren't in the wild, survive before canned cat food was invented?

So, great weekend with Ranger…
Wasn’t feelin’ good Friday evenin’, and into Saturday afternoon. Carolyn took him to the vet. Ruby (Sarah’s pup) was here, as Sarah was baby sitting for some folks, and I stayed with Ruby and Belle.
Intestinal blockage. A small potato from a bag on the kitchen counter. Surgery needed to the total tune of $1,900.
Back in my grandparents day, one .22 shot to the head, and the corpse bein’ thrown in a ditch woulda’ been the solution…that damn dog is lucky he lives in a different time and place…!!!!! 😂
Hopefully, we’re done with stooooopid for what little of the weekend is left.

Raw meat typically has enough taurine, which is what cats eat in the wild. We're obviously not giving them raw meat, so we have to add it to their food. It's worth noting that cats who live outside only live about five years while indoor cats can live up to 15-20 years, so they likely are better off on this diet of commercial cat food with the proper added taurine.

Yesterday was also MILs 87th birthday…!!! :)
We celebrated with brunch at Kerby Lane Cafe in the neighboring town of Round Rock.
They’re pet friendly, so Ruby came with us, and they also have an outdoor play area…!!! :)

I had the Denver Omelette with home fries and sausage, and there was also pumpkin bread French toast that was really enjoyed, and other stuff that I didn’t get pics of…!!!!! :hungry::hilarious:

It's the hesitation about high vet bills, that has hubs and me dragging our feet, to get another dog.

One unique option the WDW cast members have is they can elect to purchase pet insurance. I'm sure this helps them out financially too.

Yea, insurance companies don’t exist to lose money, so this is just another ripoff over time.
Wake up people.
My God…pet insurance…???!!!!! :facepalm::hilarious:

It's always a gamble with insurance of any sort. With the multitude of insurance company skyscrapers in large cities, and constant TV advertising, they must be doing quite well.

That said, from the little I know about pet insurance, some companies are better than others. The key is to insure the pet when it's young -- well before it develops any specific medical conditions. Not only does that help to keep the premiums down, but claims can't be denied for any "pre-existing" conditions.

Sorry, don’t agree with any kind of pet insurance.
The humans in my life are much more important.
