Kylie is enjoying the view of her "estate" !
I would think some will be driving with snow tires through your state, MD ( ie travelers during the winter time , driving on I-95 stopping at dining areas, rest stops, hotels etc ).Typically not a thing below the mason-dixon line. We have all season tires here. In Maryland snow tires are illegal except in our western counties.
Studded winter tires are absolutely not allowed on our roads. It'll damage them. You can only have them in our western counties and I you're driving out of there, you have to remove them.I would think some will be driving with snow tires through your state, MD ( ie travelers during the winter time , driving on I-95 stopping at dining areas, rest stops, hotels etc ).
That's just doesn't make sense regarding snow tires not recommended. NJ is merely 2 hours north so I would think the wintry weather NJ gets especially Jersey shore is very similar to Baltimore, etc, I -95 at the bare minimum should be cleared to travel of snow since it is a major route points north and south for travelers. But then again the huge snow storm near Fredericksburg VA on I -95 had travelers without food water gas and stuck in their cars on the interstate for several days before help arrived.Studded winter tires are absolutely not allowed on our roads. Winter tires are definitely not recommended on our roads because they're not designed for them. We use all season tires.
If we have bad snow, vehicles that are out on the roads will sometimes have chains, but the majority of us will stay home. People up north laugh at us because we shut down for three inches of snow, but we do not have the infrastructure to handle it. We have snow plows and such, but it's best to wait until it's cleared before going out unless you have to.
Snow tires are day and night compared to all seasons with improved stopping and starting power. My friends in New England swear by it.I live in Northwestern Wisconsin and I have never had snow tires. I know of a few people that change out if they have a long commute but in general all season tires are what most people use around here.
But I'll have margaritas!
South Joisey and north Joisey get differing amounts of snow down the shore especially the southern half of the shore is closer to BWI weather, NW Joisey is the frozen tundra and regular north Joisey is somewhere in-between.That's just doesn't make sense regarding snow tires not recommended. Yeah we are about 300 miles from the coast. We are usually warmer than where @Figgy1 lives. That's why I usually invite her down here. We haven't had any snow for the last two years. We really need some moisture this year. We are currently in a mild drought with 10.5 inches below normal for rainfall this year. We used to have big snows, but not any more.Best I can figure out, they live on the edge of the smokey mountains where the weather is a lot like the north country during the cold seasons whereas your proximity to the Ocean and the Gulf Stream keeps you generally warmer than the the western part of NC. I'm guessing that they are close to 300 miles from the ocean. In Raleigh we are only about 140 miles from the ocean and even we have very little affect weatherwise. They generally have less snow because there aren't any humongous bodies of water that allow the clouds to pick up moisture.
Maryland is across the rain snow line. We tend to get snow overnight that melts by the morning or we just end up with ice storms because our temperatures hover around that 32 degree mark. When Jersey has snow, we will get ice. We had no snow last winter at all, but we had plenty of ice. New Jersey definitely had snow last year. We are always slightly warmer than Jersey; sometimes over the years where I am it has been 10-20 degrees warmer than where @Figgy1 is. Heck, a lot of times before I go up to Hershey, which is an hour and a half north of me, the weather can be different. Over the weekend on Sunday it was a high of 67 here but it was only 57 in Hershey. Normally we're about the same but we always have to check. That's just doesn't make sense regarding snow tires not recommended. Heck, south Joisey doesn't have the same infrastructure they have just outside the city, my bff outside of Philly knows if they're going to get 4-6 inches of carp to stay home because people down there can't drive in snow and they can't get things cleared as fast as they can farther northMaryland is across the rain snow line. VA is similar to MD. I feel bad for those cars stuck in the snow, but you should not be driving when we have that much snow. We do not have the same infrastructure that's available further up north to clear roadways more quickly.
im going to miss that. in Mexico we always had sun x_xI live in Florida, so I'm actually looking forward to it NOT still being dark at like 8AM lol.
