Know what I miss? Drive-in Theaters! I remember on holidays they had 4 movies all night long. You would get there at dusk and leave at dawn. Ah, to be young again.

When I got married there were 2 drive in movie places within a 45 minute drive of where we lived. Then that summer another one opened, that one is still open but the others have closed down. They were fun to go to in the summer.

When the kids were little, we used to go a lot. At least twice/week for 15 or so weeks … adding up to at least 60 movies/summer. Our preferred drive in cost $5 for me, kids were free; we brought juice boxes, and bought popcorn from the concession stand. Two movies, three people, all for about 10 bucks!

Once a year, we would let Mike come, but he upset our perfect seating arrangements, so once was enough.

There are three still open, in your home state. (Colchester, Bethel and Fairlee)

And, three are operating in MA, three in NH, and five in Maine.

The tradition remains alive! :joyfull:

They still do exist in Wisconsin. When I was in Door County last month, the drive-in-theater in that county still exists and shows movies.

Yeah, but the thing is, I don't live in any of those places. When in my prime (which was a long, long time ago) we had four of them in just Burlington/Colchester area. (one only showed XXX movies which today would probably be rated PG13).

When in High School I took my first date with my girlfriend to a double feature at one, not the XXX one, If I remember correctly it was one of the Beach Blanket Bingo or another of the Annette and Frankie franchise. Just to show the type of single thinking** person I am, I also, many years later, took the person that I eventually married on our first date to see, Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. At the Colchester one that is still in operation, 52 years later. Somethings do last I guess.
Lacking in any imagination
