Two in RI. Off topic but how did a Barbie movie of all things make $155 million on the first weekend?
I am sure the massive Barbie store in CA is jammed packed with customers buying all things Barbie. The biggest Barbie store in the world is in China that already has closed. I recall back in the day I visited the Barbie store in TX with my ex who was a Barbie fan, I was amazed.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

The Barbie movie is NOT performing well in China … nor was it expected to.

Well not unexpected. Didn't the movie say things about freedom, abuse, patriarchy? and well.. China isnt exactly a beacon for Women's rights right now.

Kinda how most movies with even minimal of "diversity" in the LGBT are instantaneously filtered, cut or banned from certain markets.

Barbie in China only showed in approx 2% of movie theatres , not surprising of low sales numbers.

At the moment we aren't exactly shining stars in that department so I don't think we have any reason to feel more advanced then most anyone else in the world.

According to Box Office Mojo, the total amount is 162 million dollars for the weekend.

How it got that high is marketing.
I think everyone knows about marketing. Ironically, I just watched the trailer for the first time now.

I just don't understand the appeal of Barbie except for except for middle aged woman wanted to relive their childhood (which is not a bad thing, God knows it was a better time - I had people yesterday in the pool talking about it)
