My step grandmother wasn't overly fond of the title either. Especially since she had a newborn and became a step grandmother six weeks later (my uncle and oldest cousin are the same age). We always called her Nonna because she said it didn't sound too old.
My wife insisted on Nana which wasn't used as much back then. I liked being called Grandpa (and even now for that matter) or when they were little and learning to speak Gampa used to melt my heart❣️

I had three grandfathers. Step grandfather was grandpa, I guess because he was married to "grandma". Maternal grandfather is granddad. Paternal grandfather was grandpop. All my cousins are older, so these names were all settled before I was born.

Now my grandma is Nana to her great grandchildren. It confuses me because I'll start to refer to her as grandma and then have to stop myself.

My maternal grandmother was supposed to be Grandmom, but I only ever met the woman like three or four times before she died so now I usually refer to her by her first name when I'm feeling generous. :angelic:

Although Audrey’s actual 2nd birthday was on Wednesday, we had her big birthday bash at a local park this morning.
It was bear-themed, because she loves bears. Megan even made her hair into “bear ears”…!!!!! :hilarious: :inlove::happy:
It was a bit of a sweaty affair, but, we were in the car by 11:30a.
A fun time was had by all…!!! :)

It is supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far where I live. It is supposed to be 92 out and the first 90 degree day all year.
