Carolyn and I just got back from a great visit with my Mom and Pop…!!! :)
So different from a few weeks ago, when everything seemed to be falling apart, health-wise.
Looks like their meds are finally dialed in properly, and they were both in good spirits, and very happy…darn, I love them so very much…!!!!! :inlove::happy:
Very glad to hear this. The Midwest in me hopes you tells yer folks we says hi.

This video might 🤔 interest @donaldtoo ....or not...up to you sir ;)I often watch videos on this popular Youtube Channel called: "The World According to Briggs". This is NOT an anti Texas video. It is balanced and "matter of fact".

And, I didn’t take any of that as anti-Texas, at all.
Sounded pretty reasonable to me.
It’s still crazy how many out of state plates I see on cars commuting to and from the office every day.
I’ve joked many times before for people to not come here, as we’re full enough…which would actually be a problem for me, since I design custom homes for a living…!!!!! :hilarious:
Funny thing is though, Austin is pretty much its own animal, and the majority of folks movin’ here are actually movin’ from other Texas cities.
We have no plans of leaving, as most of Carolyn’s roots (USA-wise) are here in Texas, and all of mine are…!!! :)

Agree.
It's like they are getting way too desperate after Marvel starting to tank.

They are really burning all bridges on all sides instead of keeping it going.

They are roasting the goose of the golden eggs.
I think its deeper than Marvel. The Mandalorian helped Star wars after the Star Wars box office decline after the The Force Awakens, but the 3rd season right now has a big drop in viewing. The last 2 movies in the sequel trilogy did make over a billion dollars each, but it from over 2 billion dollars to over 1.3 billion to less than 1.1 billion dollars.

Also Solo: A Star Wars Story became a box office bomb back in 2018 also with it makes less than $400 million dollars.

What I'm getting at is Star Wars declined for Disney before Marvel did. I know the prequels are looked upon better than they were when they first came out in theater. I don't think the sequels would be as kind as time goes by. I recalled Solo had behind the scene issues and needed a new director as a result.

The Sequel trilogy of Star Wars had its own issues that I rather not go into.

Rust is the main reason for the short lifespan. Even if the engine lasted there remained little to hold it in place because the body and the frames disappeared. Also cold weather was a killer of engines that didn't have the tight tolerances that they have now. My Buick had started to burn oil at about 90K. Then my wife started to use it daily for a 40 mile commute. She came home one day and told me that she forget to tell me that there was a light on the dash and the engine was making noise for a couple of days. I checked it out and it was an oil pressure light. The car held 5 Qt's and I had to put 4 Qt's in to almost get it to the full line. However, you couldn't kill a Buick 350cc engine and the oil made it quiet again and shut off the light and we put another 30K on it before problems, not engine, started to plague it and with a toddler and an infant I started to not feel confident about it's safety or dependability and traded it.

I loved that car. It was the first new car I bought, right after I got back from Vietnam, when I met my wife, used it for our honeymoon trip and brought both our kids home from the hospital (not all at the same time, of course). I should have had it bronzed and put on the mantel, but I didn't have a mantel at the time. Considering what those vintage 1970 cars a pulling at auction now I really regret not keeping it. However it would have been not much more then a big lawn ornament since I didn't have the funds to restore it at the time.

Yea, rust isn’t a big issue down here.
And, in a perfect world, it would be best if we could always warm up our vehicles at idle for about 10 minutes ‘til everything got to proper operating temp. What makes me cringe is when someone revs a cold motor…sooo not good.
I’ve seen pretty new cars before puffin’ out the telltale blue-ish smoke with that particular burnt oil smell, and I always wonder what the heck they did to mess up that engine…?!?!?! 🤔 :cyclops::facepalm:

Over 4 quarts low…?! Wow, that’s crazy…!!!

And yep, as I’ve posted before, Pop still talks about his two-tone, green and white ‘57 Chevy Bel Air, with the 283c.i. V-8 and Power Pack. He loved that car, but, it just wasn’t practical to keep it at the time with a young family.

Yeah...the toilet that used to be in my bathroom was never very good, so I learned how to use a plunger pretty young. Mom can use a snake pretty efficiently. Never really saw Dad use either come to think of it.

Although there was that one time B flushed his underwear down the toilet as a kid...there was no using the snake that time; that was a plumber call. 🤣

When our kiddos were little, I drain snaked at least 3 ball point pens and 2 Matchbox-type cars out of our front bathroom toilet, and a coupla’ other things I can’t remember now. :cyclops:
It was always an adventure to find out what exactly was cloggjn’ up the works…!!!!! :hilarious:
