I was just asked to be on our town's library board, so I suppose I'll have to start checking out real paper books again to support the library (I still did occasionally if I couldn't get it on Libby). I have found out that the books downloaded and checked out through Libby don't count for individual libraries' circulation numbers and the circ numbers counts towards funding. I won't give up my digital books entirely though, I love my Kindle!
Our library board is elected, and probably the tamest of the bunch, this go around.

Strictly by accident, I made coleslaw today for dinner tonight accompanied by waffle fries and Ground Beef Steak (aka Hamburger). I think, however that my inclusion of cabbage in the coleslaw, should give me some Irish cred. Corned Beef/Ground Beef are primarily the same thing and waffle fries are absolutely potatoes. So without even trying I have conformed to the holiday. Tell me I'm not in the spirit!

DH is the only one who likes the cabbage. But, I think it adds something to the corned beef. And my mother would roll in her grave, if I didn’t put the cabbage in there.

My grandmother would get out the frying pan

Yah, my grandmothers would disown me (if they were still alive), for not putting cabbage on a plate with corned beef, on St. Patrick's Day! :p

Off early today…ran out of work…!!!!! :hilarious:
There is actually plenty of work, but, contracts haven’t been finalized. One partner has eight design projects in queue. Happens from time to time.
The project I started on this morning was put on hold because the client needs to pay a surveyor to do a slope map. The site is located high above Lake Austin, and about the back 1/4 falls off a cliff. Of course, the clients want the house as far back on the site as possible for the views.
Unfortunately, with Lake Austin zoning, the percentages of allowable impervious coverage diminish as the slope percentages increase.
0-15% slope = no more than 35% imp. cov., 15-25% slope = no more than 10% imp. cov., 25-35% = no more than 5% imp. cov., and nothing is allowed to be built in an area with a slope percentage exceeding 35%.
Other two kickers to this project, there’s an existing house on the site, as far back as they want theirs, that’s definitely not adhering to updated LA imp. cov. restrictions, and the clients want a second floor above the main level, which is not allowed due to sight lines from other lots on the street. You can only go down to a walk-out basement-type situation, which is where the dude actually wanted a basement garage/man cave for his growing car collection (already has a ‘70 GMC pickup, and ‘69 Dodge Charger)…fun stuff, huh…?!!!!! :hilarious:

As a follow-up to this post…
The partner met the clients out at the lot this morning, and called me to email him (why he didn’t take a copy, I have no clue) the part of the deed restrictions that stated they could not have a floor above the main level, thus leaving room for a large car collection garage below the main level…dream dashed on the rocks.
I still can’t believe these people didn’t find this info out before purchasing the lot.
Funny thing is, the client notes started out so whimsical, too…
“Welcome to our casual beach-style home high above Lake Austin! Settle in, and enjoy the view and a refreshing drink, while we watch the big game!”
And, it went from there.
I get it, clients have tried to set the tone/mood for what they envision a few times in the past with notes like that.
But, if that’s your dream, at least do the darn up front research so your dream doesn’t get blown the hell up.

Am I the only one making fancy potatoes, fancy cabbage and fancy carrots to go with their corned beef
I'm didn't have cabbage or fancy carrots.

I'm had Reuben Sandwich and Regular potatoes from a can. Dessert is cupcakes with green frosting with Ande's Creme De Menthe baking chips inside the cupcakes.

i know my parents are having a cabbage and potato bake besides a Reuben Sandwich. My parents use a recipe from online since 2004.

Here's the recipe for the cabbage and potato bake: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/cabbage-and-potato-bake-3645617
