All the car wash places here are stand-alone businesses. (None are connected to gas stations. May have been different at one point, down in RI, where you are.)

Many gas stations/convenience stores here have a car wash either connected to them or on site.
Many years ago, when the kiddos were little, and we still had our Jeep Cherokee, we took shelter in one from a crazy hailstorm…!

If you ever visit a Buc-ees enormous facilities for food drink and gas they also have the world record in a size and length of a car wash. Locations mostly in TX, and parts of the South. There is a location off of I-95 in Florence SC.

Being a Texan, I’m very familiar with Buc-ee’s. Plus, the architectural firm I work for has been working on phased design for a ranch in Central Texas for a coupla’ years now for the main Buc-ee’s (visible) partner, Arch “Beaver” Aplin.
Also, they recently broke ground on what will be a 75,000 sq. ft. location in Luling, Texas, a town we used to travel through on our way to my Moms folks place in Shiner, Texas, of Shiner Beer fame.
It’ll be the largest convenience store in the world, and they consistently win awards for the cleanest restrooms in the industry…!!! :)

The last few days have been a bit crazy/stressful around here. Let me just start off by saying that both Mom and Pop are fine.
Pop ended up in the ER late Sunday night. He was feeling lightheaded and dizzy, having chest pains, and his BP was spiked. After waiting a long while for test results, it was determined Pop had no heart attack or stroke, but they couldn’t get his BP to come down to a reasonable level until Monday afternoon. By which time Mom had been admitted to the ER for recurring panic attacks, being stressed over Pops situation, and similar symptoms as Pop. All tests for both ended up negative. They ended up in the same hospital room, and finally got home yesterday about 5:20p…!!! :)
I'm glad they are both ok! And it's nice they got to be together!

Maybe time for a garage sale and make a few bucks on a weekend? One persons junk is another persons treasure .
Years ago after my parents passed away, my siblings and I took what we wanted from the house. Relatives came and took additional items. Then, there was what was left over. Couldn't imagine most of it (all used) would be of interest to many other people, but we advertised on the local access station that we were having a yard sale.

Even selling widgets, etc. for short money, we somehow pulled in almost $900 that day! :D I think for some buyers, it's just the fun of the "hunt" that drew them in. ;)

(Plus it saved us from hiring a U-Haul to cart away a lot of stuff.)

Happy to hear they're both back home. Those types of situations are really scary for them, and for the family. Did the doctor(s) suggest a visiting nurse to check in on them at home, a few times this week? The VNA can be helpful to take their BP, etc., and promote a calming influence to them. (I think they usually come for a week until all is stabilized, if I'm not mistaken.)

Here are some flowers for them. :)

Thanks for sharing. One of my neighbors had a lot of stuff and decided to have a garage sale midweek during summer of 2020 peak of covid. There were hundreds of residents that showed up wearing masks and bought most of her items. So many cooped up in their homes I'm sure were glad to get out for a while.
