But....I thought there were no annual passes except for like Florida residents or something like that. Isn't that a major thing right now?
Right now most annual pass sales are paused, with the exception of the Pixie Pass, which is for Florida residents. Florida residents can have any type of annual pass, and right now they can still buy the Pixie Pass, which is the lowest pass and blocks out weekends. DVC members have an additional pass types available. Then anyone can buy the top tier pass. I think APs went on sale for a couple of days after COVID and then "sold out"? Which to me is really stupid because unlike in CA, APs really aren't clogging up the park. In DL, the problem was that APs would crowd up the park pre-COVID, and they were absolutely the worst behaved guests. In WDW, it's the opposite; APs/DVC people are the best behaved guests, many come from out of state, and they usually spend the day as opposed to a few hours. So I firmly believe they should just resume selling APs to the masses in WDW. But if you managed to get in when they were selling APs or if you had an AP pre-COVID and opted to keep it, then yes, APs still exist.

DL I think they could do tiered systems where each pass could give you a certain number of visits per month without the stupid reservation system. I think they probably need a firmer code of conduct policy for APs out there to address the bad behavior. But they've also paused their stupid "Magic Key" sales out there.

Anyone have any plans for the Presidents Day weekend? I'll be watching the Daytona 500 this Sunday afternoon.
On one of my trips years ago, I got to the junction of I-95 and I-4 in Daytona about 20 minutes after the race ended. My advice is don't ever do that. I-4 was stop and go all the way to Kissimmee. It took 4 hours. I had been driving all day and was really tired. I just went with my daughter that trip and I'm sure she heard some words that up until then I had been trying to shield her from. She was a Junior in High School at the time so I suspect she had already heard them before anyway.

My step sis lived by Pocono Raceway for a short while. Long, long, long weekend short I didn't know it was a race weekend and we were trapped in her development all weekend. I had wine:angelic:

Going to see the new Antman movie and going to the creamery to stock up on cheese.

People are watching Ant-Man and I finally saw Black Panther 2.

In other news... I just found out about a British bakery in Newport. However it's like 45 minutes away and have cross two bridges. I worked in Newport for ten years and I will only go back unless someone else drives.

It's Carnaval (Mardi Gras) here and our town's parade is today. It always lines up right outside our street, but I'm still in quarantine through tomorrow. A has a chess tournament today that M is taking him to. He got out of quarantine yesterday, thank goodness, and neither of the kids caught it. I'm pretty much back to normal now, so I could probably be out early. You get out after 24 hours of being symptom free OR 10 days, but I don't want to risk it. Tomorrow they are going to my in-laws' for my BIL's birthday, and because he has a transplanted kidney, he's really high risk, so I'd rather not give it to him on accident if I'm not totally recovered. I'm only a bit phlemny and I'm not sure in how far that's considered a symptom. So my big weekend plans include staying in bed reading.

How about you, besides watching the Daytona?

Yeah, they keep talking about it on the DFB videos, how you can't buy APs right now unless you're a Florida resident, and then you can ONLY get the Pixie Pass. Also the Tables in Wonderland card....you can't get or use that anymore, I guess. Who knows if or when that will come back. And that one I don't think you could keep it if you had it before. It's just canceled. But I thought they had let all the APs run out...like you could use what was left of the one you had when the parks reopened, but I didn't think they allowed renewels. I know people are really complaining about it, and there was a big thing about how Chapek didn't like AP holders in the park because they don't spend as much money as people who go for longer trips. People were hoping when Iger came back that he'd reinstate APs at all levels. I don't see how AP holders spend any less. Everyone I see here with APs, even if they take shorter trips, they take more OF those trips, and they also spend a lot of money on merchandise, where most people have a set budget for souvenirs and that's it. And yes, there's the AP discount, but when you add up all the hotel stayes, the food, the merch, and the number of days they spend in the parks, it's still more than the average people without the AP. I think they said on DFB that in order to make the AP worth it, you need to spend at least 9 days in the parks. I don't think the average guest spends more than a week. And a lot of people only get one AP to get the discounts and the rest of the family gets standard tickets. I haven't done the math, but it just doesn't seem plausible to me that AP holders spend that much less.

Are you planning on upgrading at renewal? My mom's cousins just moved to Florida and they got the Pixies and are planning to upgrade when they renew. I have the option to upgrade mine at renewal. I had the DVC gold pass before (I kept it through COVID); I think it's called the Pirate pass or something stupid now? But it's the second one from the top tier and I always get the option to renew at the top tier, and I'm like, lol, no thank you, I don't need to pay $300 more to not have blackout dates for times I'm definitely not there. 🤣

Edit: Sorcerer pass, not Pirate Pass. Again, I think the names are stupid.

These name changes reminds me when cell phone and pay to win games want you to confuse you on plans and costs.
So they can confuse the users to pay more with weird values.

Here phlegmy is considered symptomatic. Dh wouldn't be able to go to work or kids to school. Parental units are high risk and the same list for being able to see them, any congestion, phlegm, coughing, sneezing, temperature, digestive issues................................................... Hope that helps
