This story came out of left field -- wave bye to 411 Information on the phone.

I assume most people go online now to find phone numbers; but I think having 411 as a backup (in a more scaled down version/perhaps longer waits for an operator, and a fee per call), still makes sense. (There are those who do not have access to internet, and/or might be in mountainous areas with spotty connections, for example -- so may need to also rely on their landline phones.)

I recall back in the day I rang up my family phone bill when I was too lazy to look up the phone number in the white and yellow pages pages and called 411 and especially talking to my best friend in the next town over 3 min away to ride my Schwinn 10 speed bike to see him but it was $.05 a minute to talk on phone.

Well hopefully, that won't be the case, considering Mecum has 4,000 vehicles in this huge show (from Jan. 4-15, different days, etc.. on schedule). I'm sure that most of the buyers are just car freaks, with a ton of money! :joyfull:

Here's a link, fyi:

Oh yes and these car buyers don't set up a car payment plan when they just bought a $1M collector car. It is all cash buy.

Waiting to hear back from friends who Disney-stressed me out. :bored:

They decided to go up for their kid's 7th bday. Fairly last minute. On a Saturday (yesterday.) One-day tickets. They've been before but don't know stuff like we know stuff. All-Star Music. Epcot. Genie+ Character dinner reserved at Garden Grill.

And they freaking drove up Saturday morning! :banghead: (Got an "almost there" text at 12:30PM!) The wife didn't want to take off work (tending bar) Friday night  and usually gets home at 4AM. "Oh, she can sleep in the car." "Oh, there are only like 5 rides there, how much time do we need?" "The main things are Ratatouille and Frozen." :arghh:

I looked at the app yesterday afternoon, and many things were practically walk-ons: Nemo, Caballeros, Spaceship Earth (when SSE is a long wait, you know it's bad. It wasn't! Whew!) But Ratatouille was 145 minutes and Frozen was 65 minutes. Let's hope it got better!

The guy is very happy-go-lucky, he'll have fun no matter what. His wife...:cautious: you never know.

Have not seen either of them post fb pics yet...that might be a bad sign. :hilarious:

Ugh, I'm so mad at E's school. They rework the schedule after every break for some reason, and this time her schedule is AWFUL. It was bad before, but it's terrible now. So Tuesdays, she starts at 8:20 and goes straight through until 4:40 pm. She has 8 subjects that day, 7 of which she usually gets homework for., and 2 of those are the 2 she consistently gets a LOT of homework for. And those 2 classes are, coincidentally, also 2 of the 3 classes she has on Wednesdays. So she doesn't get home in time to help me with dinner on Tuesdays....so she can't do her chore that day, but when she gets home, she will still have to do homework for those 2 classes because it will need to be turned in the next day. And because those classes are the heaviest with homework, she will probably have to stay up late to get the homework done, OR she'll have to get up early on Wednesday morning and hope she can get it finished before school. Thursdays aren't QUITE as bad....she only goes until 3:50pm, but it's still a long day and she won't get home until I've already started dinner, so she won't be able to help Thursdays either. And then Friday is a normal load...she goes until 3, BUT she has 2 hours of PE, right across the lunch break, meaning she doesn't get lunch until AFTER PE. They don't get their lunch break at the regular time. So she doesn't get lunch until 2pm. I feel bad for the kids who have to bike for an hour to get to school and then an hour back home. They have to leave at 7 am to get there on time, and then won't get home until 6pm...they have an 11 hour school day, basically, and then have to do homework! We're lucky we only live a 5 minute bike ride from school. Who approved this schedule? Who looked at this and said it was a good idea??

Holy cow -- I've been watching the Mecum auto auctions (venue is in Kissimmee, for this go around). (Motor Trend TV is broadcasting it "live" today.) I'm floored at the number of vehicles bringing in huge bids --and then the very high bids up through 2 million, and more!! :jawdrop:

Of course, I know practically nothing about cars in general, but I like watching these mega auctions -- with the high rollers in the VIP seats up front, and then there's the online bidders jacking up the prices as well. I like listening to the fast-talking auctioneers on the mike -- that's a talent in itself! :joyfull:

Yep, we’ve posted about it in the past, I love those shows too…!!! :)
Unfortunately, I had no clue one was on yesterday…!
