Pictures from last night's dinner. I think my outfit should totally count as a costume because I wore makeup, and I very rarely do that.
We went to a Tapas restaurant called 't zusje. It's a chain and they are all over in the Netherlands so we went to the one in our town. My husband went to a different one last week with his work and said it was fantastic. We had somewhat bad timing as we had based everything on the menu he had on friday and last night was the first night of a new menu, so a lot of the things I had been looking forward to trying, and several that he had wanted to get again, were no longer on the menu.

So you can order 2 dishes per round, unlimited rounds until 10:30pm, plus there are some extras you can get in each round....fries with different sauces.
They brought us each two rolls. I took a bit of mine and promptly set it aside. It had something in it, but not enough to give it an actual flavor, just enough so that it tasted like dishwater.
My first round, I got garlic and herb mushrooms, and steak with a red port sauce.

The mushrooms were fantastic. I ordered them a couple more times just because they were so good. The steeak wasn't very good. They overcooked it so it was really dry and the port sauce had very little flavor and the meat wasn't seasoned at all, so it was just very bland and dry. I was not impressed. It came with red cabbage, which I can't stand, so I didn't eat that. The mushrooms came with half of one of the rolls that taste like dishwater, so I left that, too.
M got Smoked Salmon on viking bread with guacamole and radish and shrimp cocktail

Next was beef tenderloin bites Thai-style, and a mini portobello filled with goatcheese.

The beef tenderloin was cut pretty thin, so it was really dry, and there wasn't much of the thai sauce or seasonings, so while it tasted fine, it was pretty chewy and dry. It could have used more of the juices. The mushroom was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of goatcheese, mostly because of the texture, but this wasn't bad. I LOVE mushrooms, so I was willing to try it.
My husband had Carpaccio and something else, but he started eating and forgot to take a picture, so I don't remember what the other thing was. It might have been pulled chicken salad with mozzarella foam and chimichurri, but I don't know. If I don't run across a picture of that one, I'll know that's the one, because I know he got that at some point, and it was pretty early on.
