As a kid, I was pretty lucky and won a lot of small insignificant things in drawings done during magazine drives in school. I also won a Bicycle at a kids day open house at a local Air Force Base. Top prize for a admission ticket number drawing with over 10,000 other kids in the mix. That disappeared along with my childhood. The closest I ever got after that was in a corporate outing golf tournament where I came in dead last and won a baseball and bat and advised to take up another sport.
In my defense, I had only played golf (very badly) once before with borrowed clubs and had bought the set I used at the tournament at a roadside yard sale for $25.00. A complete set of Wilsons and semi-rotted golf club bag. All of it was at least 40 years old when I bought them. The saddest part of that whole story is that was in 1978 and I have improved only slightly since then in spite of more modern equipment. I can still be a last place contender with very little effort.,
Speaking of which can anyone explain how someone can buy $24.00 worth of Mega Lottery tickets (that's 48 possible numbers) then only match one number and that was a 13? Asking for a friend.
