Hurricane is done.. It slammed into the mountains and quickly converted into a remnant low.
There might be some rain. Specially in the hurricane path (torrential) not here thou, we only got hit by the side bands.
The mountain range saved us again. We're in a privileged bay.
Cesar, relieved to hear that the worst of the hurricane did not hit your area. Glad you are safe, and thanks for letting us know you're o.k.

Got back from sales conference in FLL late Thurs night. Late Friday night felt weird. Passed home test both Friday night and Saturday morning. 2 coworkers reported positive home tests. I went for urgent care PCR and...... I have the Rona...

Feel mostly fine just get tired really quickly
Glad you're feeling a bit better, and hoping you're resting up at home. Fingers crossed that you'll be back to normal health, very soon.

Been a decent weekend…
Celebrated birthday at Sarah’s place Friday night.
Unfortunately, the Longhorns lost to OSU by 7 points yesterday.
The Dallas Cowboys won today.
Small birthday celebration at Mom and Pops this afternoon.
The US Grand Prix was held here this weekend.
Austin FC won its playoff game against Dallas FC, who they’ve never beat before, to advance to the semi-finals.
And, best of all, the Astros just swept the Yankees…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
So, two parties for you over weekend -- sounds like a lot of cake and ice cream for the birthday boy! :joyfull: :D (P.S.: That was cool that the US Grand Prix was held in Austin last weekend. I imagine you didn't get a chance to see it though, as your social calendar was already full !!) ;)

I laughed so hard when I saw the Astros sweeped the Yankees. 🤣

I also take issues with the Astros organization because of their history of known cheating, but given that Trey Mancini plays for them, I wouldn't mind seeing them get a ring.

No player will be held accountable for the Astros cheating to win the WS. MLB knows they can't beat the players if the players use the George Costanza defense.

Teams stealing other teams signs , pine tar hidden on pitchers arm, neck, glove, juiced up on steroids in baseball and no one blinks an eye until one team gets caught stealing signs using the trash can debacle.

Their cheating ways go way back. Something should have been done YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you share some of that luck? I need to win a lotto :p
At least you didn't ask any family member from my family with that. Can't really help. The peak of the luck was in the 80s and 90s although mom was a 1 number away from winning Supercash grand prize of $350,000 back in 2020.

Back in the 80s and 90s, we won drawings of prizes multiple times including a Walt Disney world trip.

OK, I’ve got some news and have been given permission to share…
A few years ago, Megan expressed to me her desire to write a children’s book. She also asked if I might be interested in illustrating it (more on that in a bit).
Anyway, it kinda’ got put on the back burner for a while, but, she recently started working on it again.
She called us tonight and said that she had finished a manuscript for the book, and had sent it to an editor. She received a nice rejection letter from that particular editor, saying that she liked the book, but, it wasn’t her genre.
Shortly after that, Megan threw caution to the wind, and sent it to 5 heavy hitters in the business, and has received offers from 4 of them (has yet to hear back from the 5th).
Now, here comes the crazy part…
One of the very interested editors is the former chief editor for Scholastic Books, and has edited all of the Hunger Games books…!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Still many more steps to go, but, she has her foot in the door.
As far as me illustrating goes, I told her that if things progressed to that point, I would do some initial sketches to see if they might be up to par. That would be awesome to be able to do. But, I’m my own worst critic, and, ultimately, hiring a professional would probably be for the best in that regard. A great children’s book would deserve great illustrations, and I’m not a professional in that regard.
Anyway, below are parts of the email Megan received from that particular editor…!!! :)
