Ugh. Yeah, it looks like it's going to rain all weekend here. I've been battling headaches on and off. I can't tell if it's from the hurricane, because it's quarter end close this week at work, that stupid antibiotic I'm on, or all three.Oh fun! Ian is going to come straight towards us. @93boomer , that was my concern too -- if your hubs would be called out for electrical work. (I saw an interview yesterday from Florida, and the official said that something like 27 states are lined up to send in crews down there. Some were staged in locations ahead of the storm, while others will arrive after the hurricane departs.) So I assumed at some point, he would be called up to either service your area, (if needed, depending upon the storm track) or be sent South to assist.Stay safe and I hope your dh doesn't get called out
One safety concern with crews from other states being sent to FL to repair downed power lines in flooded areas is that FL wildlife may be displaced from the nearby waters , lakes and retention ponds into the nearby flooded areas.@93boomer , that was my concern too -- if your hubs would be called out for electrical work. And that is why I am glad DH isn’t going. One safety concern with crews from other states being sent to FL to repair downed power lines in flooded areas is that FL wildlife may be displaced from the nearby waters , lakes and retention ponds into the nearby flooded areas.
Oh good, I'm glad you are safe!! Sorry to hear about the people without power! Do they know how long it will be before they have that back up? My friend in Kissimmee said they kept their power, too, so that's good. She said she keeps getting alerts on her phone about flooding, but her area isn't too bad so far, but they are expecting tons of rain now that the eye has passed over them. Hope you are through the worst of it!OK we’re in the clear. 5,000 people in our county without power, happy to not be one of them. Stores were normal yesterday after a slow Tuesday.
Not hearing good things about Ft. Myers.
