Worst meal in WDW ever. Seriously, they were clueless with how to deal with food allergies. I ended up eating ribs with nothing on them and salad. No idea what I'd do now given that I no longer eat most pork.
I'm pretty sure the one I used to go to wouldn't be great with some allergies as it was run by a private organization. That said the food was excellent. The whole pig was somebody's family recipe as was most of the food

I have lived in Northern Wisconsin my whole life and I don't know many people that use snow tires. I guess they would be handy but even my dad never used them and he had about a 40 minute commute to work drove in all types of weather.
My dad used snow tires on his vehicles. His work was 20 miles away each way for at least 5 days a week. He drove from using the country road highway to the small town the company he worked at was located at.

Yeah, I don't eat non-cured pork anymore. An unfortunate trait I inherited from my grandmother...neither of us can digest it. I've done some research on it and apparently it's related to cat allergies...which is weird given that I'm not allergic to cats. I can have ham and bacon in small amounts, but I prefer poultry and lean beef.

So work drama...

We have this one "team leader" in finance who currently has no one on her team. She's been through three people since I've been with my company. My former boss mentioned me going to her team before I was promoted to my current role. I said, lol, lady has been through three people, there's a problem on her team and she's likely it.

My current boss volunteered me to do some work for her team until she can hire a replacement. I said that was fine since I wouldn't be reporting to her.

I can already see why people quit. Holy crap, this woman is a nightmare. She's fine when she's working with you, but she doesn't seem to get that she's not my boss. She'll IM me and basically expect me to drop everything. And I'll be like, I can get back to you in ten minutes, and then she says, "Oh no, there's not enough time, I have a meeting." So I finally asked her to drop some time on my calendar for when she wants to work so that I can make sure I'm not in the middle of something...she basically told me no. So I finally went and looked at her calendar and dropped one meeting on it for this week. She only tentatively accepted, but whatever.

Think I'm going to start taking the hard line of "You're not on my team, so if this is going to take more than 10-15 minutes of my time, then drop some time on my calendar."

Why the hell she would not adapt to your calendar?
This person sounds toxic as hell to demand only on whatever whim of time she has.. o_O))

I honestly think she doesn't believe I'm important enough to be scheduled. I also think she thinks she's my boss. So we're going to have a little calm and professional conversation clarifying that neither one is the case and that if this situation isn't working, I'll be discussing it with my actual boss. :angelic:

So I finally got my dad to come to HersheyPark with us. He hasn't been here since 1986; my brother and I have season passes.

On the first rollercoaster I got him on, on the lift hill, he says, "Oh no, I'm too old for this!" Then later he tells me everything here is too fast for him; he needs Disney speeds. 🤣
He shouldn't feel bad, at least he do more thrill rides than my dad. Dad's problem is there are medical warnings for his medical condition. He takes medication for high blood medication even before triple bypass surgery in 2011. He takes blood pressure medication, had triple bypass in 2011, and suffered a heart attack last year.

I think Disney Speeds would be two fast for your dad for Tron at least when it opens since its 60 MPH. He shouldn't feel bad, my younger brother can't handle Expedition Everest. I'm more of a mild coaster person myself.

He had problems with the backwards part of the coaster. My younger brother can't handle being in the first seat of Space Mountain without being wiped out and that is before Space Mountain became too rough.
On the good side, the dinner show at the Fort wilderness is back?
Yep. There is changes to my understanding with the menu based on websites. I am not an expect on the show, since I don't recall ever going there before the pandemic.

It's not just NJ handling it better. For only being two hours further north, they get much more snow than we do in this part of Maryland. We have this rain/snow line, so we tend to get more ice than we do snow. So when we get snow, many times there's a layer of ice under it. Or when it melts, it refreezes and we get ice. Making our efforts pointless. They can salt our roads to death and we'll just end up with the dang ice. Not to mention we get the ice on our sidewalks, which means we get fall risks.

It looks to the northern states like we panic and shut down, but it's just very hard to predict how safe things will be. It's better for most people to stay home and for only essential workers to be out when it's like that, or for people to start their days late (which happens a lot).
I know some don't believe in snow tires but it makes a world of difference having snow tires when encounters snow and the dreaded ice. I don't need it now but when in those climates years ago we were some of the few that had them. The way to go is to stay home but some have to get to work or other matters in wintry road conditions.

Boss needs to set expectations with both individuals and hold them accountable. Get HR involved so they are in the loop. Too many times I have seen good workers quit because of no longer wanting to work in a toxic environment.
