Does anyone recommend a carry on for the plane? Like the 21 or 22 inches one. I have a 26 inch luggage that is too big because people always ask if I have anything in there. And I figure with people losing luggage like crazy, maybe it's time to switch.
But....if it's carry-on, how can they lose it? You only lose carry-on if YOU don't take it off the plane. I'd check the airline website about their regulations for luggage size. If it's too big to go in Carry-on, it has to go in checked luggage. But as long as it fits the requirements, it should be fine. There are certain items that will trigger them needing to open up the bag to make sure you don't have anything dangerous in it, but it shouldn't be size related. When we flew a couple of weeks ago, my kids' smaller carry-ons were pulled for extra check because we had packages of stroopwaffels that are a cylindrical shape. My massive carry-on was the only one that WASN'T pulled. It went right through.

I have an American Tourister Disney carry on that I really like. This is what I have, just in a Minnie pattern (I have the matching Minnie suitcase). I'm sure if you don't want Disney, they have something similar in just the plain, but they hold up well and they come with a 10 year warranty.

As an FYI, I had all kinds of issues coming back from Hawaii...but I had two checked suitcases (as did my parents) and they made it to and from just fine. I don't have a choice when it comes to checking bags; one of my carryons is half filled with medication.

My current one has to go in checked luggage but I don't want my luggage to be like this
