That is different then it was in my era. I went to high school back in the 90s. I recalled the classes I took went up to Civil Rights Movement. I didn't remember Vietnam being mentioned in class or if it was, they didn't go through it a lot.

I didn't recall reading Night. I recalled I had to read Anne Frank's diary in High School.

When I was in 7th grade back in No Cal, during the ‘74-‘75 school year, we were allowed to choose a particular era of history to study for a 2-week section. I chose WWII. That class was actually taught by my English teacher, Mr. Wigglesworth (NO JOKE…!!!!! :hilarious: - the name derives from the village of Wigglesworth in northwest Yorkshire County), as he was a WWII Vet.
Definitely an interesting class.

In 8th grade, at the same school, there was actually an aerospace class that was offered that I took for a whole semester. We learned about lift, pitch, roll, yaw, aircraft controls, instruments, etc.
We also made balsa gliders, carved balsa co2 “rocket cars”, etc., and for our final project we made tissue paper hot air balloons about 6 feet tall, and almost all flew into the foothills near the school. That class was a total BLAST…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
