Street out front looks reasonably good. Car was totally encased in ice, and I could only scrape off some of the ice today, but only made a dent in how much is still there. Hopefully, tomorrow might melt a bit more of it, so that at least we can get the (frozen) car door open! :joyfull:

Yep, had the same problem Thursday mornin’. Took 3 pitchers of room temp water to break the seal. Then, our office manager texted us all not to bother comin’ in…well, at least I didn’t hafta’ mess with it Friday, when we had the late start…!!!!! :hilarious:

Our streets are fine...they salted the hell out of them overnight.

Cars had some ice and about an inch of snow on them...let the car warm up and did the best I could cleaning it...there's still a thin coating of ice stuck to the roof though, even though we went out to get our oldest his booster. I tried smacking it with the end of the brush to crack it so it would slide off, but it's just thick enough that it didn't work.

Yep, Friday here was yet another “flyin’ sheets of ice” day out on the highways…!!!!! :hilarious:

Thanks. Doctors said if I waited longer and my appendicts burst it at home , could have been worse. Glad I wasn't in some far away place / on vacation . I noticed no one including staff in hospital wore N95 mask but instead wore standard surgical masks. CT Scan showed inflamed appendicts so I got hooked on IV/ antibiotics in a private room , surgery followed in morning shortly after . Doctors and nurses are heroes!
I'm glad you were home. I broke my finger on my vacation in SC. ERs in a different state are not good, as I learned. I can't imagine if you needed emergency surgery and weren't home.

We can get fined in MA for that. I made sure there was no way the ice was coming off, lol...I haven't had a ticket in over 15 years and I'd like to keep it that way.

Yep, I haven’t had a ticket in over 25 years, for any infraction (knock on wood - my head ;)).
I know, I’ve heard about the flyin’ ice issue.
If I see it flyin’ off another vehicle, I just make sure I’m far enough behind/clear.
And, again, there are definitely other issues down here to be more concerned with, as we don’t get nearly enough ice…!!! ;)

Didn't you enjoy chemistry classes in school?

I never took chemistry at all. I took science in junior high in No Cal. We had a large class with 2 co-teachers. Mr. Briscoe and Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Baker was from West Texas, and was a total hoot-and-a-half…!!!!! :hilarious:
She used to tell us stories of being a member of the “Green Paint Gang” when she was in junior high herself…let’s just say that it all started with a little prank that went hilariously wrong…!!!!! 🤣
We dissected earthworms and frogs…I have no problems with blood and guts, as we were hunting and fishing when we were children, and gutting and cleaning fish or other critters was definitely more involved than some preserved specimen from a lab (plus, all those “Blood on the Highway” movies they showed us back in the day in drivers ed didn’t adversely affect me either…!!!!! :hilarious:).
I only took biology my sophomore year in HS.
No dissections, just a lot of notes and bookwork.
My junior year I started the 3-hour drafting class, and then only had English and algebra, and finished off the day with soccer athletics.
The only class that changed my senior year was English to government.

Yes and so true. And the follow up 2 week office visit with the surgeon is in the hospital area where the surgery was done at. It gives me pause and reflection when someone experiences a true medical emergency in a far away place, on a plane or cruise.
