Just a reminder to everyone that the Puppy Bowl XVIII will be broadcast on Sunday, February 13, at 2:00 PM (EST), on Animal Planet. (also streams on Discovery+). :) Not sure who will win, but best wishes to both Team Ruff and Team Fluff!

@Tony the Tigger , will you and Kylie be watching? (Don't forget the snacks for the game!)
Thank goodness it's still on because Hallmark cancelled The Kitten Bowl :cry::cry: https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/k...w-home-at-gac-family/ar-AATzGJT?ocid=msedgntp

Thanks. Doctors said if I waited longer and my appendicts burst it at home , could have been worse. Glad I wasn't in some far away place / on vacation . I noticed no one including staff in hospital wore N95 mask but instead wore standard surgical masks. CT Scan showed inflamed appendicts so I got hooked on IV/ antibiotics in a private room , surgery followed in morning shortly after . Doctors and nurses are heroes!
Happy it was discovered and I understand serious this is. My mom had her appendix taken out as an emergency back in the 1990s. She was in the hospital for multiple days.

What happened to my mom was she was in pain on the day of her 40th birthday. She went to her doctor the next day and the doctor told my mom to go to the hospital right away due. The doctor diagnosed her at the doctor's office with the appendix problem. She spent 2 or 3 days in the Hospital I believe. I can't remember the amount off hand due to how long ago it was.

Never took chemistry class. (Figured I had already experienced enough food chemistry disasters in the kitchen . . . :hilarious: )
I didn't take chemistry either. I took environmental science though after I took physical science and biology. I was a student in biology. We did stuff like dissecting.

I do think some people here would've love the biology book I had as a sophomore in high school. That book had a recipe for how to make beer. I don't think the book had a wine recipe.

I was not tempted to make beer.

We dissected Kermit in grammar and Jr High, you don't want to know what was dissected in high school;) Organic chemistry wasn't what stopped me from wanting to go pre med;)
Dissecting was fine with me. How dissecting was done for the class I was in was, each student was assigned to a another student for helping out in dissecting.

We did it multiple times to different animals. I can't recall anymore.

I took Bio, Chem, and Physics in high school. Good thing since I became a science teacher. Our textbook didn't have a recipe for beer but in one class we did make wine! And our teacher allowed us to drink a little bit of it. That wouldn't happen in high school now.

On one GS high school camping trip we made a pot of gravy and had chanti with dinner, pretty sure that wouldn't happen now either

Back in the day, home economics classes were standard. Teaching us young ones on how to prepare for life. Easy bake oven!

When I was in 7th grade everyone had to take basic home ec and woodshop. Then it became optional. My mom still allowed me to take home ec as an 8th grader but once I got into high school she wouldn't let me take it. She said I knew how to cook and bake (and she said I was better at it than her), I also had basic sewing skills as well. My mom said that since I was college bound I needed to take classes that would help me get into college and help me once I was there. Luckily, band was still on her approved list because of music & cognition studies and of course Spanish.

One odd item we had behind a glass case in Dr Smith's sophomore year Biology class were real bones and a real human skull. Back then we were 16 year olds that didn't even blink an eye about it. I don't know if those realistic items would be so visibly displayed in current times.

I don't know about human bones now, it might depend on the sourcing of them. The Bio teacher at our school and I both have a variety of animal bones on display in our class rooms.

I took shop class and home economics in 8th grade. I was better in home economics. My hand coordination made me bad in sewing, but I was better at baking. At the same time even without my disability, it would've been debatable if I would've been good at sewing.

My dad knew how to sew and is great at it. My mom had the same characteristic as her own mom meaning great at baking and cooking, but don't like sewing. Mom knew how to sew, but just hated it.

My problem in shop was coordination. I was not a natural like my dad for creating stuff out of wood. Shop Class has students do stuff like make napkin holders and a holder for paper plates. Another part of shop class was fun in terms teaching students how to print designs on t-shirts. The only thing is the teacher did not want students make designs of the playboy bunny or anything similar in nature.
