Multiple worries include:1) I traced her wedding band which recently has been too tight...I could show the store that and then ask them to go one size higher???? 2) "Engagement" ring is in the description title...This is not an engagement occasion but I feel this ring would make her feel special....yet would a different type of ring be better? 3) The shape of the ring itself is not round like the wedding band, am I just setting myself up for a sizing failure by potentially buying this...going up a,size...then it is too loose and she and I both feel frustrated???

Do jewelry stores not do free sizing anymore…?
If it doesn’t fit perfectly at first, just get it resized.
When Carolyn and I got engaged, the ring didn’t fit perfectly (loose), but, she still wanted to wear it for a week before we had it resized for free…!!!!! :hilarious:

When I was single, I saved a reasonable grouping of money to buy something I always wanted. A boat! Funny thing happened on my way to the marina, I got engaged and my boat magically became an Engagement Ring. She wore it for 29 years and when she left she took my coulda been a boat with her. Stranger still, it disappeared. Both my kids said that it was nowhere to be found after she passed. I guess the boat was just never meant to be. 🛥️💎 😢

I’ve never owned a boat, and never wish too…unless I had enough money to pay people to take care of every aspect of it…!!! ;)
Also, have you ever heard the saying…?
“The two happiest days of my life was the day I bought my boat, and the day I sold it.”…!!!!! :D:hilarious:

Some boat owners I know remember two great days. The first day is when they buy it. The second day is when they sell it.

I have to take your words for it, as I never managed to get one. I almost bought one when I first move to NC but decided against it since I had no place to park it and didn't want to pay a marina to dock it there. So, just another unfulfilled dream. No big deal, I've had many of those over the years. And that one is minor compared to some of the others.

I was VERY into cars when I was young...did a lot of work on my cars myself. At one point, I was building a custom Camaro out of three different models of Camaros. Then I met hubby, and he lived over an hour away from me, so my years of long commutes started in earnest.

Yep, spent much time over the years doing my own car repairs. Learned mostly from my Pop, and car mags.
My Pop had a ‘55 Chevy, and then a ‘57 Chevy with a Power Pack, and was a classic shade tree mechanic…not so much now, at age 89.
I’ve never attempted any kinda’ hot rod building myself, but, I had 2 close pals that dropped a Chevy 327 small block into a ‘75 Vega…oh, the fun…!!!!! 🤣
Were they first gen Camaros, next gen (the ones with the doors that were 9’ long and weighed 2,000lbs. :hilarious:), or beyond…?!

The pic below is what my Pops ‘57 looked like…some of the trim that is slightly gold denotes the “Power Pack” (4bbl., dual exhaust, and higher performance heads) option…!!!!! :)
