Take it up with all the DPW and transportation depts. in the cities and towns in the state then. With the amount of money they spend on this procedure, I sincerely doubt it's useless. :cautious:
I don't see how it can be anything but useless. They do it here and it doesn't even work for a dusting. The ground doesn't even really freeze here so for a dusting the earth itself will fix it. For the most part anymore then that it might thaw the "strips" and create water which trickles beyond those strips and freezes into black ice. It is an effort that they make because usually around here we get very little snow that just starts as snow, but more than a dusting of snow it isn't doing very much. For the northeast it might serve to give a few time to get home but is going to have lingering affects other then not have to call in road crews until after the storm starts and not before.

All of ours closed down long before Covid. Soup Plantation first.
I used to go to Sweet Tomatoes often, and you are correct they all closed up long before covid. I'm guessing that health concerns weren't as strong as people anticipated. I did notice a flaw though, Sweet Tomatoes had some great chicken noodle soup with large pieces of meat in it and customers always loaded the bowl almost to the top with chicken, four or five strands of noodles and an ounce of broth. By the end of lunch time it was chicken flavored broth.

In March 2020, the several Sweet Tomatoes buffet locations in Central FL abruptly temporarily closed stating to customers due to the pandemic, and May 2020 the company decided to close up all operations and none ever reopened. They had the biggest salad bar I've ever seen, lunch offerings like pasta, pizza and sweet dessert bar. I enjoyed eating while in town and didn't miss eating meat. In regards to various pizza, bread sticks, salad bar and dessert pizza, it is not the greatest Pizza by any means but Cici's Pizza buffet is a bargain for less than $10 per person, the cinnamon sticks dessert I could eat a few plates of that alone.

I’ve had Cici’s Pizza around here exactly 3 times, and once was a “treat” from a neighbor family years ago for helping them with an issue.
Pizza-flavored crust is all I can say about that stuff, ‘cause that’s all it is.
I’d sooner just smear some jarred ragu on toast, as it would taste better…!!!!! :D :hilarious:
