We're supposedly at the "peak" of the snow and wind right now...we have about 6-8" and the gusts aren't too horrible.
And power just came back on! YAY!!!
Oh...and we're right in the area south of Boston and on the coast that's supposed to get the worst of everything.

For the record, this storm reached bomb cyclone status early this morning. Pressure dropped 25 millibars in 24 hours or less.

If the reporting is accurate, we should start winding down a little bit after dinner time. Hopefully the gusts stay low, like they have been.
I think Dominos and Pizza Hut are are running joke in NYC/NJ compared to real pizza. CiCis would not even venture to open in those areas.

Yupper! Snow amounts vary all over the state. I've been out a few times today (to clear snow from the heating vent on side of building) and to just shovel front steps once. (Of course, everything I shoveled before noon, has filled in quickly, as the storm is absolutely raging in my area.)
Hard to measure exact amounts of snow -- a lot of drifting, as we've had consistent winds (luckily, none so high to be damaging). But with this cold temperature it keeps the snow light and fluffy -- so even a breeze would blow it all over the place. My guess is that when I was out at 1 PM, we had 15 inches. I think by 10 PM, we'll get close to the 2 foot mark. I don't believe they'll release the exact totals for this area until tomorrow.
Meanwhile hubs is out on the roof pushing off close to 20 inches (again, from wind drifts), while the snow is light and easy to move. Some will drift back overnight, but the bulk of it he'll be able to move out now.
That's a shock to Orlando locals but one summer when we had a family vacation and toured the CA Bay Area including San Francisco back in the day we had to bring and wear winter wear in July. Those winds off the bay were intense and our shins hurt from literally walking some of the streets of SF that seemed like almost vertical . One thing we noticed is that the million dollar Victorian homes didnt even have AC and we never turned on our AC in our hotel room during our visit.
