^^^^ What she said X2. Now Roswell is added to my bucket list of places to visit

It ain’t everyone’s cup o’ tea, but, if y’all ever get the chance, I’m pretty sure y’all would enjoy it…!!! 🙂
Funny, on the drive back to Ruidoso from Roswell, I was talkin’ about how bein’ there was a kinda’ similar feelin’ to when Megan, Daniel, Emmy, and I did the one day “Worldwind” WDW trip…we got into Town Square and were like…. “We did it…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
And Sarah said… “Well, now you can check it off your bucket list…!”
Funny thing is, it’s never been on my bucket list…!!!!! :hilarious:
It was just yet another kinda’ crazy spur of the moment thing, but, obviously, we’re darn glad we did it…!!! 🙂

I never really had a bucket list. I did have a bucket item. I wanted to personally see and be part of in some form The Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia. I always remembered watching it on TV in April when there was still a very good chance that in Vermont snow was still on the ground and was still susceptible to more snow. It always looked so perfect there, flowers, bright green grass and so on.

A couple of years after I moved here to NC, I had a part time job driving a shuttle bus for the October SAS Champions Tour tournament in Cary, NC. In the process I found out that the company that SAS or PGA, don't know which, had hired to operate the transportation set-up for the tournament. I also managed to spend a few minutes chatting with one of the organizing companies managers and I found out that they were also the company that The Masters management used to do the transportation for The Masters. So I got bold and said to the guy, "let me know if you need some help at that one since I am retired and free to go at a moments notice and would love to get there" He gave me his business card and told me to call him in March of the next year and he would see if they had a place for me.

Wow, I don't think a day went by that entire winter that I didn't think about that possibility. Come March, I called him and to my surprise he said he did have a place for me and told me when, where and to whom I should report as soon as I got there. I left here close to 4 days before the start of the 2014 tournament. I still didn't know what the were planning for me to do, driving or maybe even standing in the parking lots directing traffic and I thought it was completely a voluntary position. When I got there I found out that they were paying for my hotel for the duration, plus a generous hourly wage, plus a food allowance that covered my meal expenses. I worked from 11am to 11pm as a dispatcher directing when and where to send the shuttle buses. I had a special ID badge that allowed me access to every building on site and the freedom to move about. Of course, it was a long, tiring day but man I saw so many big name golfers, like Bubba Watson (the winner) and even was almost accidentally run over by Arnold Palmer in his golf cart. It was a lot of work but enabled me to a not only be able to fill my bucket item, but get paid generously to do so.

That is soo cool that you got to be there! We used to go to the tournament at Cliffs Valley in SC to watch each year. I think we attended probably 3 or 4. They stopped having them 4 or 5 years ago and moved to a bigger venue.
One year we got to see celebs like Cheech Marin, Alice Cooper, and Kevin Costner. I have an old photo with Kevin around somewhere. He was super nice! 😊

Thanks, Minnie…!!! :)
You’d LOVE it…!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Along with all the fun stuff in the museum, including many actual historical accounts of “The Roswell Incident” and many more, they also have an extensive archive were anyone can do research, that I did not post pics of earlier…

As I posted earlier, we weren’t exactly sure what to expect goin’ in, but, the whole experience, especially the museum, did not disappoint…!!! :)
And, I figured most would dig the around town silly-fun stuff, (which, obviously, was just a portion) especially the Dunkin’ sign…!!!!! 🤣

Also, thank you, again, about the earlier part of my mini TR…. 🙂
The house is indeed pretty amazing, and we hope to return again, at some point…!!! 🙂
Carolyn has been a great sport, and let’s just say that WDWMagic isn’t the only place her antics have been posted…!!!!!!! :joyfull::D🤣:hilarious:;)🙂
I love how even the library has a "x files" thematic with the "cold case" boxes.

What…?!?!?! You didn’t know that “duct tape” was yet another “technology” the aliens gifted to the human race…?!?!?! :cyclops:👽

:hilarious:
Seriously though, I was hoping someone here would notice and comment…!!!!! 😂
Reminds me of a free novela about aliens that I have been reading that I love it.
The humans convinced the intergalactic science committee that the duck tape was the best invention of human kind (not even the warp and impulse drives).
And they were impressed.
