How many remenber this from Studio Backlot tour at WDW

The Harbor Attack Experience

The first major component of the Studio Backlot Tour most people will remember is the Harbor Attack show. Those lucky enough to have been selected as volunteers would act out a scene in a large show area while the other guests watched. The purposes of this portion of the attraction was to show guests how water tanks are utilized on film sets to create special effects. Where else in Disney World can you have this sort of unique experience nowadays!?

I was sitting here remembering my visits in the 70's this came to mind

Wait…70’s…?
That Park didn’t even open until ‘89, and the movie “Pearl Harbor” that that portion of the attraction was based on didn’t come out until ‘01.
Regardless, we still liked the attraction, but, liked it better before they got rid of “Residential Street”, which contained a 7/8ths scale facade of the Golden Girls house used after the first season for establishing shots.
“Lights, Motors, Action!: Extreme Stunt Spectacular” replaced “Residential Street”, and “Toy Story Land” replaced that, as well as what was left of the “Studio Backlot Tour”.

ETA…
We were last on the attraction on June 5th of ‘13.

So, I know there’s already a thread about this, but, I’m currently watchin’ an LBV TV DISNEY live stream where it’s Maria’s birthday, and they went to have her build a lightsaber. They have “run out of” the nice carrying bags they used to include in the $220 experience, and are now giving guests plastic bags.
They then went to a gift shop nearby to buy a bag, and she said it cost as much as the lightsaber, which I think has been reduced to $200 because of the carrying bag shortage. :cyclops:
If there’s a shortage, how are ones available in the gift shop…and, are they the same ones, or are they that much better to cost $200…?!?!?! :cyclops:
And, if there’s a supply chain issue with the bags, why isn’t there one with the lightsaber parts to build ‘em…?!?!?! :cyclops:

Excuses by Chapek for inflating prices..
The outrage was still big because apparently.. they are discounting 10% more for the sabers.

Oh, I fully believe they are having supply chain issues right now (it's the story of my life at work right now... *sigh*). They'll probably charge more once they get the cases back in. Which will be 50/50 Chapel/Inflation.

Similar up here in the Northeast. Some highways still have a few attended toll booths; many booths you just drive through. There's a camera that takes a photo of the license plate, and mails a bill to the owner of the car. (I suppose for people who drive a lot on the highways, it makes sense to get an EZ Pass, but if a person only uses the highways a few times a year, it's not worth it.)

No attended toll booths down here.
Everyone in my family, except myself, has a TxTag.
I avoid toll roads whenever possible.
Best I can remember, I’ve used a toll road exactly twice with my car because I needed to make up some time, and they sent me a bill.

Yes, they reduced it from $220 to $200 from what I understand.
And yea, I still don’t understand why they have no “supply chain issues” with the parts to make the lightsabers, but, they do with the bags…?
Yet, they went to a nearby gift shop and got a bag (as she stated) for the same price as the lightsaber… :cyclops:
I even posted in their live chat twice to get clarification from them, but, both times, even though I made sure not to post when they were riding an attraction, they weren’t reading nearly all the chat.

At Christmas they were down to only 2 models of the Legacy ones you don't build. I believe there are usually 12.

Depends on which one you buy. I think 179.99 to 229.99.

I’m, generally, a Star Wars fan, although not nearly close to a super fan. I mostly enjoy the original trilogy, but, I’d never spend even remotely close to that kind of money on any of that stuff, unless it was some kind of investment due to their worth going up over time, maybe.
