My Mom just got her new refrigerator after waiting since Oct 31!!
I am not a bit surprised. When I went for my eye appointment on Monday, they were missing employees due to covid. My eye doctor explained different employees got hit by covid. They just made schools completely virtual for Monday and Tuesday at least due to covid.
Send wine.

Impossible. By the time we empty out my car and transfer every thing to her room it will be 6pm. There is no way I am gonna gobble down dinner and drive 7 hours back to NJ. Thanks for your well intentioned and caring post.I just checked the weather. You may want to do the round trip today or you may get caught in an ice storm tomorrow
That's one thing I'm impressed about the road crews of NJ when driving through. They seem to be out in force to salt/sand / plow the roads especially the major highways . I would not say the road crews of VA, and especially the Carolinas are of the same caliber of the road crews of NJ.Impossible. Same, his brother might have set the video to private.Unfortunately, the link did not open up.
I want to punch your teacher.I think it's kind of become a general insult now....it's not even just to describe entitled women who mistreat others. I was called a Karen because I commented on a video about perception of women and relationships and I mentioned that I had been sexually harassed in high school, and I went to my male teacher to ask to move seats because my assigned seat was next to the boy who was harassing me, and the teacher told me it was my own fault because I blushed and got embarassed and giggled when I told him to stop, and that was encouraging, and that there were always going to be people in life that you didn't get along with and I needed to learn how to deal with it, etc. Then he changed the seating assignment, and put the boy right behind me where he had easier access to snap my bra, whisper disgusting things in my ear, stick pencils in my ears, etc. So instead of fixing the problem it got worse, and I think the teacher may have done it purposely to force me into "learning to deal with" it. I said in the comment that I kind of regretted not reporting the teacher. The school was supposed to have a zero tolerance policy and other kids had gotten in trouble for calling a kid "Jimmy" instead of "James". That seemed really tame compared to what was happening to me, and the teacher SHOULD have taken my complaint seriously, but didn't. It didn't stop until my brother slammed the kid up against a locker and told him not to look at me, talk to me, or even THINK about me, and a teacher came out and took both boys to the principal and the principal "advised" him that he might want to stop before I filed a lawsuit against him, because his family was moving, but he wouldn't have been allowed to leave the state if he had a lawsuit pending. His parents wouldn't be pleased if they couldn't move because I was suing him for harassment and his father lost his job. At the time, I didn't necessarily want anyone punished, I just wanted it to stop. I was coming home in tears every day, feeling dirty and gross, and I just wanted him to stop. So I didn't bother to turn the teacher in, because the kid DID stop after the principal talked to him. (Though a couple of teachers, including the one who had caught my brother slamming the kid against the locker, told me that if he did anything, they would conveniently go blind if I slapped his face.) And then he was gone, moved away and I didn't have to deal with him anymore anyway. But some guy called me a Karen because I said I wished I had held the teacher accountable for not protecting me, and because I complained about the boy in the first place. If I had to guess, I'd say the guy who called me Karen was probably someone who had a history of harassing girls himself and didn't see it as a big deal and didn't like someone calling out that behavior as offensive. Guilty conscience. So instead of changing the behavior, he tried to depict ME as the one in the wrong for complaining about men having harmless fun at my expense.
And I've seen other people call women Karens for any number of things....even just simply sending back an order that was incorrect in a restaurant, or not letting someone cut in front of them in a line. It seems to be used for anything that a person doesn't like, including normal behavior that doesn't allow someone to mistreat them. The person who wants to take advantage gets mad that they won't let them and calls them a Karen. It's gotten a bit out of hand.
Same, waking up at 5am every day to get the bus of 5:30 which was normally packed.Your kid is lucky to have a car in college. Back in the day I used to go to the rider board ( no internet existed ) tacked on the wall at the student center looking for a ride to take me if not to my home but at least near a major city where I lived . For Christmas break, spring break or end of spring term I had to hustle to find a ride to go back home. Getting to college in August was no issue.
You know you're an adult when you get happier with an appliance than a gift
Then I would suggest heading due east and taking 95 north to avoid the ice storm. It seems the storm will hug 81 in VA good luckImpossible. Both of my daughters went through college without a vehicle. They both had one sitting in the yard at home. The oldest went to Colorado College in Colorado Springs for four years and the youngest went to Tulane in New Orleans. Neither of their cars were new. We bought them cars but they weren't new cars and wouldn't have made it to Colorado Springs or New Orleans. So they shipped their stuff home at the beginning and end of each year and any holiday stuff was up to us to fly them home. I went to college at home and lived at home until graduation and had a car, but I worked part time to pay for it. The day after graduation I was in Amarillo, Tx in basic training for the USAF.Mine was also a "commuter" jr. college. So, just like Cesar, I took a bus and also a subway train, to get to and from classes every day. @Lilofan , glad that rider board was helpful to you, as you lived on campus, without a car.
