@Figgy1 , I watched that (TV) movie remake of the Waltons last night. (I had DVR'd it the other night.) Meh, it was a pleasant movie for perhaps a family who hadn't seen the original series. Production value was about that of a Hallmark Xmas movie.

The main issue wasn't that the new actors were poorly cast or anything like that, but that none of them really had the depth of character as those in the original series. (The only part I liked was the occasional narration by Richard Thomas, especially at the beginning of the movie. He didn't appear in the remake, but it was nice to hear his familiar voice.)
