The flight I'm looking at, which is the same one I took last time, is a non-stop out of DC. 10 hours straight. That's about the time I spend to get to SC in the car. I prefer the jumbo airplane and being able to walk around, go to the bathroom whenever, free movies...I would to if it weren't for the 100 hours on a plane. Besides the last time I flew to Hawaii it was just a fuel stop for So. Vietnam. Seriously though, I have never had a desire to go to Hawaii. Seems like a nice place, but it just never clicked in for me.
Yea I remember that fuel stop in Hawaii. I don't even remember getting of the plane.next stop was Wake Island Was that flight like 20 +something hours to Cameron BayI would to if it weren't for the 100 hours on a plane. My mothers mother would put moth balls evey where in her house, to this day if I smell moth balls I am reminded of my grandmother
Weird. I thought that had happened a few months ago.

We flew from Hawaii to Guam and then straight to Bien Hoa. I spent a lot of time eating. I had four days to kill in San Francisco before I had to leave. It wasn't planned at all we were supposed to have a weeks worth of M-16 / M-60 machine gun training. It only lasted one day and then they said, we could stay on base or go into SF. I figured I was going to be spending more than enough time hanging around with military people so I opted to go into the city. I didn't bring much money with me to begin with so, for two days before my flight left San Francisco I was broke. I walked to the USO from the hotel I stayed in and ate nothing but candy bars from there until I finally got on the plane and got food service. Every 10 feet along the streets someone was begging for money. It got to the point when they came up and asked if I could spare a quarter I replied, I was just about to ask you the same thing. I have no idea how long the flight took, I didn't even look at my watch. All I remember is stepping outside the plane in Bien Hoa into what felt like an oven and asked if I could get back on the plane and head back to Vermont. It was in October. I should have guessed that they would say no. On the plus side I got to watch the NY Mets win the 1969 World Series on a tiny screen, black and white, rabbit eared, TV in my room.with all the pollution stuff om cars now it's almost impossible to e to the plugs
