Happy Birthday, Bets!!! I also like your avatar, because I used to love the old skyway over MK. I miss that; it was one of my favorite attractions in MK.

I have no clue! It is always the first one to blossom here and it never fails, for the 8 years that we lived here, we always get a hard frost and all the buds fall off. We know it's some kind of fruit tree, but that's it. There is a cherry tree, an apple tree, and a pear tree nearby, but none of them are in bloom yet - I think they know better!
That sounds like an apricot tree to me.

Happy birthday to your grandmother! :)

Oh my, I LUVS me some mudbugs...!!! :joyfull: :hungry: :)
As I've posted before, my younger brother used to be a food expediter at a place down here called Pearl's Oyster Bar, years ago. They had a crawfish fettuccini dish on the menu. He would always make sure the chef put 2 helpings of crawfish tails in it for me...! :hungry: :)

Maybe you have to grow up learning to take apart those things. Although I'm sure they're quite tasty, wouldn't it take about an hour to pull apart a plate of them? At least with a lobster, for example, it's large and you can crack it open in big sections.

My friends from the south always talk about the crawfish boils they have had. Lots of fun and good food.

Might it be a flowering dogwood tree? We have a bunch of those in my area.

I didn't grow up learning how to take them apart, but, we've had more than a few crawfish boils over the years since we've been back in Texas, although it's been a while.
For me anyway, it takes no longer than shelling a peanut, and is well worth it. :hungry: :)

Tammy, all of a sudden wasn't feeling well, so she had most of hers wrapped to go. Dessert too.
I ate all of my potatoes and veg. Lobster too. I had just a few bites of the steak, which was delicious, but just too much to finish. Hubby finished his. And then mine.

Not very far apart in taste and texture, to me anyway. Lobster just tastes a little more like the ocean. :)
Whereas, Crawfish taste more like a swamp! :hungry:
