Went out to eat this afternoon, got our drinks and placed our order for food. After watching three couples that arrived after us get their food before us and one of those couples was done eating and ready to leave I got up and complained to the manager. Manager said we are short staffed and doing the best we can. I told him that doesn't explain why people are getting their food and leaving before us as we didn't order anything abnormal and it was just me and my mom. Total of 40 minutes waiting after ordering as when I got up and said something to the manager, not one time did someone stop and say hey your food will be up shortly. It was 4pm when we sat down. What do you guys think? Was I wrong for complaining ?
Some places are short staffed. However, that doesn't completely let them off the hook -- I recall back in high school, I was a waitress one summer. One day, two of the waitresses called in sick. So the manager shut down some of the tables that day. It was more important to give the seated customers reasonable service.

@Tony the Tigger , few days late here, but Happy belated Birthday to you (on Tuesday, the 31st). Sorry, my internet was out late Tuesday when I remembered it, and my internet was out all day yesterday as well. So I just was able to finally log back on here this morning. Belated wishes to you, and I know you guys had a fun trip to WDW to celebrate. :)

Chick-fil-A. I refuse to spend my money there. I have gotten Starbucks a couple of times when I'm out with friends where there is one...there are only a couple here in the Netherlands anyway, but I'm not really that fussed about it, so it CAN go. I don't drink coffee, so I get hot chocolate, and I can get better hot chocolate elsewhere. But if I have to choose only one, it's Chick-Fil-A all the way that goes.

Isn't your father a lawyerView attachment 583988
Not much he can do. The law says that even if a tree is on someone else's property and falls on your property, your insurance is responsible.

We're better neighbors, though. Dad
took out a tree two years ago that was absolutely no threat to our property but would have landed on the neighbor's house (on the other side of us). Tree was a beast to take out. It had poison ivy all up it. There was only one tree company even willing to do it because they have someone not allergic to poison ivy, but they charged a premium. Dad disposed of it himself (chopped it once it was down) to save some money since he's also not allergic to poison ivy.

So you've meet my aunt then? She's the one who is who is my landlord along with her sister and my dad which is a pain the ***. Won't cut the trees down.

All I hear is rain and I just want to sleep
At least you're getting the rain overnight. It was a pain during the day. Had to come home after my haircut and change everything down to my underwear, and I was wearing a raincoat.

I would have flagged down the server long before that. But I think I'd have asked the server before going to a manager. It could have been an honest mistake. Then if it wasn't resolved after that, THEN I'd go to the manager. Or, depending on other options for a quick meal, I'd flag down the server, ask if it was almost ready, and if not, I'd tell them to cancel the order and I'd go somewhere else.

Top of a hill. We are good. Got 3.5 inches of rain. Oldest's college cancelled afternoon classes so she came home early. No after school activities. And rain stopped.
Wow....they canceled college classes?? They canceled my classes ONCE and it was the first time in 20 years they had canceled them. We got several feet of snow and the plows couldn't even get out, so none of the professors could get to work.

I can tell already this new online system for A's school is going to be tons of fun. He had to get his book approved for Dutch class. So his teacher at school helped him look up his teacher on the online system and send her a message to ask for approval. She sent a message back that he isn't assigned to her, he needs this other teacher to approve it. If he's not assigned to her, why is she the one listed on his profile? And why doesn't the school know who is assigned to which teacher?
