That's sad, and there are some instances of this happening. With those specific exceptions aside, vacation can help people recharge and maintain their sanity. They often return to work refreshed, and are more valuable to the company. Smart executives realize that.

Executives that I've worked for, will call in to the office a few times during vacation (usually letting people know ahead of time, so that peeps can prepare their questions, etc., for any situations that may have arisen). That's usually enough and people respect that. (Executives also make it clear that if a major crisis happened, the employees could call them for that, regardless.)
No doubt. When execs would take vacation and fly to Hawaii or Europe they can be reached. Their admin assistant would be working at the office and back in the day could get in touch with their boss if need be on our behalf. Even on vacations execs in the company would touch base with their admin assistants frequently for updates back in the day.

Hey folks, anyone has any recommendations for budget hotels near WDW?

I'm eyeing the ROSEN (formerly Clarion) near Disney Springs.
We have only stayed at the Best Western and Hampton. They are both walking distance to D Springs. Hampton was the best of the two. Nice and clean. Best Western was a disappointment. That being said, it has been maybe 3-4 years ago since BW. Maybe it has changed.

There's an entire subreddit for Target employees. I doubt Target cares that much
Well, I was more concerned about how negative he felt, or feels about Target. He isn't a different person on the job then on line, he just talks more freely here that there. However, that doesn't mean that a person he works with hasn't made the connection and is happy with Target, might just point out some of the post here. If he has stated what department he works in it wouldn't take long to make an ID. It's not likely happening, but could and I just wanted to say that I was involved with business, both large and small and we never really know who we are talking too.

Oh the same posts you see me making on here, are the same conversations I have with my coworkers while we're there. But again, I never mention my real name or my actual job title on here, just what I do every day (and there are other people in my dept that are cross trained to do what I do).

The improved 5G takes time to kick in.

You should have gotten it at Camden Yards and gotten some free O's tickets. They probably would have lost, but still!

Those O's tickets were probably nose bleed row too. If I didn't want to see the field, I'd jump on that unlimited game pass for next month in the standing room only section.

I'm to the point where I don't even feel like watching the O's anymore. I might just tell my dad to trade in our tickets next weekend for a credit towards next season so that my brother and I can go to Hersheypark (we can't go on Saturday). All they do is lose, they don't let you bring food or drinks into the stadium anymore, so you're forced to spend money on their insanely overpriced concessions (for those who think Disney is overpriced: $5.50 for a bottle of soda WITH my discount) and their bag check policy is ridiculous. Oh, and you watch them lose.

I only go for the atmosphere at this point. Like, I'm not a Nationals or Pirates fan but I got to experience those 2 stadiums in person for the first time and soaked in those crowds. Went to Ripken Stadium over the weekend, not bad for a minor league team. Plan on going to Philly at some point next month for the Phillies. I also plan on going to Boston next season for a game. Just being there is a better time than watching a team lose.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say you were, I just know how sophisticated computer science has become, and just saying be careful. I don't think anyone is doing anything actively to you, just that big companies have more options then we poorer computer users know about. Let's just leave this topic. It was such a simple thought that has blown way out of proportion. You're fine.

It would be alright if they were giving something back to the fans, like a few wins. My son in law and grandson are massive O's fans and are currently in depressed mode. In his first marriage my son in law named his son Brooks after Brooks Robinson.
