@MySmallWorldof4 , I have been watching a Netflix docu-series about the Navarro Cheer team and it made me think of your daughter. Those flyers....wow, they have to do so many scary stunts! They are ridiculously talented, though! And I was so flabbergasted that one of those girls was from Osage, Wyoming, which is really close to where I grew up. We used to play them in junior high basketball. They don't even have a high school there because it's such a tiny town, so they have to go to Upton or Newcastle for high school. But it was so weird to see someone from Wyoming competing in cheer championships. Wyoming is not exactly a hot spot for cheerleading!

School year is almost over!! We had parent teacher conference for A just now and his report card looks good! His lowest grades are for subjects he doesn't really like, like biology, french, etc...but even those are good grades.
E has her culture day tomorrow and that's the last actual school thing she has to do until the English certificate day next week, but no more assignments or tests or anything. She's disappointed in her Chemistry grade because she wanted at least a 9.5 and I think she said it was a 9.3. But she's got A's in all the core classes and in everything that she's taking next year. It sounds like most of the kids in her class are just barely passing, except for 3 of her best friends. One friend is for sure not going on with their class next year, she's going down one level, but it doesn't sound like she has to redo the year at least. And one friend might just barely make it, but she chose a profile that really doesn't fit her and I don't think she'll make it next year at the highest level if she does that profile. But E, her best friend, and her 2 guy friends all have good grades and they are all doing the same kind of profile next year, so hopefully they'll still be together for most of their classes.

Started watching it, but it wasn’t appropriate for my daughter. There actually ended up being some not so good things with one of the male cheerleaders in real life. Won’t get into it, but stuff like that makes the sport look bad. FYI my dd is looking forward to doing those crazy stunts when she gets into those higher levels. 😬

Yeah, some of the kids had some really rough pasts, so I can see it would be iffy for your kids. Do you know which one of the ones had some bad things? I know one of the girls had some iffy stuff both in her past and right after the end of the season, but apparently she made it back on track. I guess the coach doesn't stand for any bad behavior and anything illegal or promiscuous will get them kicked off the team. One of the guys who helped with tutoring and such had been on the team and was kicked off in his first year because he made a bad decision and spent a night in jail for it. He got himself straightened out and went and begged the coach to give him a 2nd chance, and he did get it, but she mentioned she is really strict, because if you are too easy on that kind of stuff, the incoming freshman won't take the rules seriously, and one of the guys said that her rules were really clear, so if they ever stepped out of line, there was never any surprise when they were sent packing. It was interesting to watch, in any case. Some of those kids are so talented and they have to be in such good shape!

My DD was supposed to go to the beach with her friend. Yet at the last minute her friend cancelled. So I am a substitute. Here is the view from our spot at " Brick Beach"....View attachment 570168
Here in NC they are advising everyone to stay out of the water. The rip tides are really strong right now. They had 36 rescues yesterday and 75 over the holiday weekend.

I haven't heard the word powder room in a long time. I know it is a bathroom without a shower but why is it called a powder room?
Modesty. Surely women would not want anyone to know that they have bodily functions so they went to powder their noses because they were shiny. My first 6 years of school were in a parochial school taught by nuns. To my knowledge they never went to the bathroom for anything other then to hurry the boys out of the boys room for fear they were going to do something that might weaken their eyesight.
