It was a big cowboy steak (cost over $27.00 from the butcher shop -- a place I rarely go, but I figured it was for a holiday weekend, and they have quality food there). There's plenty for both of us, and we'll give a few bites to Jack. Funny thing about Jack -- if you put a few bites of something in his dog bowl, he thinks he's getting an extra big meal, after his dog food. You should see the look of excitement on his face! :hilarious:

Anyway, the butcher shop also makes these yummy baked potatoes with a ton of cheese that melts on top -- I can't resist buying those whenever I'm in that shop. :joyfull: It was busy in there this morning which surprised me a bit, only because of the days of rain. We might get one night without rain in the next 2 days, so I guess people are optimistic for their holiday cook-outs. ;)
Looking at the weather I'll grill outside under the tarp but we'll eat inside.

I remember the first gas grill I purchased. It had a glass front on it with a thermometer. I thought it was cool. Then one day I was grilling a bunch of steaks and one single drop of rain fell on the glass (I was looking at it at the time) and the glass shattered into 40,000 tiny pieces all over the steaks. Meal ruined, many dollars worth of beef thrown out.

My next one, purchased the following week had no glass window but I found out I could just lift the cover to see how things were going and never had the problem again. At that point, let it rain I could still cook on it. It's amazing how quickly water evaporates when it hits a hot grill. If there is anything that I miss because of living in a apartment complex is that we cannot have gas grills anywhere on the property. Thankfully, both my kids have grills.

The people in my cousin's neighborhood started their cheap *** fireworks tonight and I have one terrified dog under me and one hiding in the bathroom. The other's trying to go to sleep.
I've been dealing with it for the last 1 or 2 weeks and it has gotten worse despite it being illegal in the city I live in. Last night was worse yet with a couple of them sound extremely loud.

Dh and the boys got the new washer set up while I was running my after Farm Market errands. It's got a few very nice bells and whistles but my favorite one is it sends a message to your phone for various things including when it's done. I have the messages sent to James phone:angelic:
What kind of messages? Does is say things like, "Next time, don't spill your dinner all over your shirt, if you don't want the wash cycle to last two hours!" Something like that, perhaps? :p

Yikes. This is why I won't use any type of gas grill. I only use the pre-lit charcoal only. That's about my speed. :hilarious:

I must have had the same grill glass front --rained the whole thing shattered. Never could understand why the glass was there it got covered with soot and grease could never clean the glass
