I feel like I'm never going to get the vaccine. They stopped giving the Astra Zeneca one completely now and we're still way behind with the others.
Germany announced yesterday or maybe last week that they will not be letting people cross the border unless they have a negative test. And then yesterday, some Dutch people were turned away I guess because they figured they didn't need that if they were fully vaccinated, and Germany said nope, that's not good enough, you still need a negative test result. But they won't test you here for travel purposes. So no travel for us, even if we are vaccinated and things start opening up.

In other news, it snowed yesterday and it's supposed to snow more throughout the day. This is what I woke up to:

It's not much, but considering it's April, that's pretty unheard of here. It's never snowed in April since I've lived here, for sure. Normal temps for this time of year are around 13C (55F) and we're in the low 30s now. A week ago, it was in the 70s! It's bizarre.

Just found out I'm eligible to get vaccinated...now to try to find an appointment...my PCP's office says it's waiting list is literally weeks long...

@MinnieM123 may be able to help you find a way to get one sooner

? Not sure I could be of any assistance at all, (as much as I'd like to) because it took a long time for me to get an appt. (prior to when the hospitals contacted me directly, out of the blue).

@ImperfectPixie , at various times through the years, I've been a patient at a few hospitals. It was the hospitals, themselves, that sent out an email blast to patients with specific medical conditions, or patients in specific age groups, to invite them to get their vaccine, at the hospital. (These were the larger Boston hospital corporations, with a number of affiliated hospitals in their groups.)

They all had their own online scheduling site (those bypassed the Comm. of MA one), and that was how I found an appt. One of them had an ID/and health record identifier in the email they sent, so the appt. would only work for me -- in other words, I couldn't make an appt. for a friend; because they ask for a license when you arrive, and if the information didn't match -- the person would not be admitted.

For the other hospital, I had to go through my acct. on their patient gateway, and search there for appts. Anyway, I ended up with the first hospital group I mentioned.

The Comm. of MA site was a nightmare from the get-go, but they have made improvements recently. Also,, a ton more pharmacies are now carrying the vaccine, so I hope you have better luck.

After looking at the Mass.gov site, the Beth Israel website (we live near a Beth Israel hospital), and my PCP's website (who sent me notification that I'm eligible), it looks like getting us vaccinated is not going to be easy...there are 5 locations within 10 miles of us, but they're all reporting being given very limited numbers of vaccines per week and all showing as full. I'm more concerned about getting hubby vaccinated than myself...perhaps I'll call 211 and see if they can track down appointments close to us...my mom said she did that and it took them about a week (but she accepted 2 appointments in Boston so they could get vaccinated at the same time).

Up north April snow is rare but not unheard of. My daughter got married on April 7th on a sunny day with temps in the 70's. During the reception, much to our surprise, a major storm came into Vermont so by morning it had left over 10 inches of snow on the ground. Their flight out for a cruise was cancelled and we had to scramble to have them meet the cruise at the first port of call. But, something that was a source of humor, in my mind, was that they had to spend the second night of their honeymoon on an inflatable mattress on my living room floor. My son in law remembers it with a scowl on his face, I, on the other hand, can't help but chuckle. Tomorrow will be their 21st anniversary so I guess it wasn't bad luck after all. I had set up their trip as a wedding present via my travel agent so the majority of the mess was up to me and her to fix. At this point, at least, all have lived happily ever after.

Dad has his first CoVid vaccine appointment on Saturday. B gets his second one in a few weeks. Mom got the Jansenn so she's good.

Meanwhile I'm here like...

Your AARP card arrives next week.
Remember how I was looking for a new computer because it seemed like my laptop was dying? Guess what happened this morning @StarWarsGirl ? Got a code saying "PNP fatal error". I tried resetting it to factory settings. Didn't work. Purchased the Lenova at Best Buy. It was on sale, so yay! Picking it up tonight.
Good deal? I need like 3 of them.

@StarWarsGirl recommended the above. It has a 15 inch, but we really wanted the 17inch. We mostly use it for streaming movies, and surfing the internet.

Oh, and AARP card. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
