Those are harder, but not impossible, to find. I have a 15 inch screen and, being blind, don't find it too bad to see on. The 17 inch model of that one doesn't get as good reviews for some reason. What about with a 17 inch screen?
Thanks. Those are harder, but not impossible, to find. I have a 15 inch screen and, being blind, don't find it too bad to see on. The 17 inch model of that one doesn't get as good reviews for some reason.
Here's one, I would wait for it to go on sale.
Stick with Dells and Lenovo. Do not, I repeat, do not go with HP.
That would make my head explode. I need to customize everything...and *may* have an embarrassing number of utilities that help me do that.S mode is a mode with Windows where it locks you in and doesn't let you install anything not from the Windows store, including Chrome. It's very simple to turn off.
The last I heard was that the name was rented out, but the company that was the franchiser went out of business. I went to Baltimore to visit the establishment shortly after I was hired. I stayed doing that for two years until a person that I bought advertising from asked me to go work for him. The stores were franchises but had to buy all but oddities through the main warehouse. A couple of the bigger stores in Vermont stayed in business for a while, but the Ben Franklin connection was eventually just the name. Owners basically just stocked their stores from local wholesalers. When I was manager it was really more of a variety store. We even had clothing! Most went out when drug stores started to stock the same items as small variety stores did. Later most went to the Arts and Craft route. They were doing well, but still ended up going out because the big brand stores were able to under price them. I'm sure that the Baltimore connection was probably just the east coast section, I don't have a clue if it is still active anyplace else. I'm pretty sure that Walmart had a hand in the demise of the small variety stores.Loved, loved, loved Ben Franklin. I believe there are still some around
It took me two minutes to turn off. I downloaded Chrome and it immediately walked me through how to turn it off. Now B (my brother) has all of the little utilities on there I use to keep everything running smoothly, plus Chrome, Zoom, etc. That would make my head explode. I need to customize everything...and *may* have an embarrassing number of utilities that help me do that.
My first job after I was discharged from the service was manager of a Ben Franklin Store. In that capacity I was first exposed to the fact, at the time, that Easter was the 2nd biggest Retail rush after Christmas. I never knew that. Our family never gave Easter gifts. We had limited candy mostly hidden around the house (inside). And a big Easter Breakfast mostly to celebrate the end of Lent. I guess it carried through with my kids as well because they have never done the gift giving Easter thing. It was always a family gathering, but just for a meal. I can only say that I must have led a sheltered life. Do most of the rest of you folks make it a gift exchange event?
I know
Just like my fam, and the same thing we did for our kiddos...except we go to my folks (minus 2020When I was a kid, my parents gave us Easter baskets with candy, and usually a stuffed rabbit. My mother cooked a traditional Easter meal for the family, which we had a midday, after church. (They never did anything like wrapped gifts, like on a birthday, for example.)
I hear ya there...that's where our oldest is. We're fortunate in that he understands the value of money though...he was complaining about his iPhone being out-of-date (it's a 6), and when I told him how much a new one is, he was beside himself (he thinks they should be about $100!). We'll probably get him an 8 on eBay for Christmas.
That's basically what we do, too...I've currently got a 7...when I need something it doesn't have, I'll get a new one and this one will get passed down to either one of the boys or hubby (our youngest has an old iPhone 5 with no cellular service for games...it's like an iPod). Our special needs DS (28) has my older 8+. I was always at least 2 generations behind, but, finally got caught up a few months ago with an iPhone 12 Pro Max...or, at least caught up for a few more months, probably...!!!!!![]()
Semi boneless leg 4.99 lb rack of lamb 9.99lb organicAnyone price out lamb recently? I half thought I might buy a small piece (just two of us at dinner) for Easter, as lamb is traditional, from what I've read. (Actually, I never cooked a lamb before--only lamb chops a few times.)
So today I went to the store and nearly fainted at the prices!!!I mean, they were charging around $30.00 and up.
To heck with tradition -- I bought pork chops instead, for $2.37.![]()
We have Samsung here dh has current technology only because his was getting wonky and got a good deal with trade in, mine is a few generations behind but I only use it as a phone and when James replaced his phone he wasn't worried what it could do beyond the basics because he has 2 decent computersThat's basically what we do, too...I've currently got a 7...when I need something it doesn't have, I'll get a new one and this one will get passed down to either one of the boys or hubby (our youngest has an old iPhone 5 with no cellular service for games...it's like an iPod).
