Had a GE side by side-- piece of junk the plastic liner in the freezer cracked, the shelves in the freezer never fit right. Replaced it with an LG So far the ice maker quit had to replace that, the front panel with all the electronics got moisture behind it had to have that replaced --doing it again so I'm no help on recommending a good refrig. They don't make stuff like they used too. Story-- My son's boss was given permission to take whatever he wanted from this old house which was to be torn down. They found an old International Harvester refrigerator had fallen through the rotted floor and sitting on the ground. Make a long story short they brought it home plugged and it worked. It was a 1954 model, International Harvester only made refrigerators for a few years. Looked on eBay and those are selling for 800-1000 dollars. There is some rust on the outside and very dirty the darn thing works. They put it in the business shop to keep water soda etc cold.

ok with all the appliance talk. We've started looking at maybe getting a new fridge because the one we have is as old as James. Suggestions please.
We bought this fridge a little over a year ago and absolutely LOVE IT. One of the best features is that a gallon of milk will easily fit in the shelves on the inside of the door.

Tell me about it. I think I got one of the last good Kenmore ones. Except for the delivery issues it's been great but we'd like to find something before this goes. Bosch seems to make good dish washers and washers and dryers but their fridges get lousy reviews. DH likes a Samsung which has good reviews.

We got a Kenmore Elite a few years ago - it’s made by LG - and it has a built-in wine rack.

The more we've been looking over the past week or so the Samsung is starting to look better and better. Dh was all excited about free delivery and cart away of the old one. I want to put the old one in the garage for holidays and parties. If we ever do those again. I will say I don't miss cooking for the mob other than the one that lives with me
