We used to do Sept when we started visiting. A close call with a hurricane made us change to May vacations.
True, but you take that risk travelling between late July-November anywhere on the East Coast or the gulf of Mexico. Florida actually hasn't had too many hurricanes hit lately; other states have had it worse.

We actually got stuck in Florida on an August trip because a hurricane hit...in Maryland.

But the question was about crowds, which are non-existent in September.

Update: the parents bought a new car. They traded in the Buick Enclave for...

Another Buick Enclave of course
If I didn't have to prioritize paying for my daughter's college education I could see myself trading in my 2016 Mazda CX-5 for a 2021 Mazda CX-5. Sometimes you just like what you like

Yup, like me and my Civic. 😂

Yeah they don't have to worry about that. My brother won't be going to college, and I've been done for a while.

They got the dealer to get a lower car payment than what they currently have (obviously they'll be paying longer) and this car has significantly more features.

They also only have one car payment. My dad still has his 2014 Lacrosse. They don't make those any more and he's planning on driving that into the ground.

Small correction Tropical systems can hit in June. We know because we had to drive west to 81 and take that into SC before heading over to 95 to avoid one in June. We weren't going to miss our SWW day for just a bit of rain and wind

Brings back memories. Also anyone remember the home ec classes we had to take 40-50 years ago in school? Baking is fun if you know what you are doing.
Home ec still existed back in the 1990s. I took home ec in Middle School. I recalled the class had us use the stove for stuff like baking cookies.

The only thing with home ec was they had a sewing part and the teacher had a student to help me sew boxer shorts because she saw how coordinated I was. I am not like my dad is with sewing.

I had problems originally with making cookies into balls, but that issue changed in time. I did have some experience with cooking before home ec. My mom had my younger brother and I make cookies when we were kids. but I was not shown to roll cookies into a ball.
