The problem with the elimination of the buses is that there are people who have no other alternative. Not everyone has a drivers license or can get one, such as disabled people. And not everyone is comfortable or feels safe with ride sharing. And what about people with small children? They now also have to pack car seats along with all the other luggage. And people from the UK who drive on the left? I know I wouldn't feel comfortable driving in the UK....I can't imagine most of them want to drive in the US, either. And if you are coming from Europe or South America, you have a long flight, then have to rent a car and drive a car that you aren't used to on unfamiliar roads and with little sleep, OR hope that all the luggage you bring on your overseas trip for your whole family will fit in an uber. And for the foreigners, hope their English is good enough to communicate with the driver. There are just SO many issues. I sent an email to Disney already.
What everyone is overlooking is Brightline train service from airport to Disney Springs 2022. Master plan was buses from Springs to resort.

With the 4 of you car rental may be the way to go. By the week in Orlando isn't bad at all and think of the side trips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kennedy is a good no park day experience and you van finally take a day to go on all the UNI coasters;) The car will almost pay for itself in a trip to get groceries milk, water, soda, decent coffee or tea, sandwich fixings, snacks...........................
Except their trips are getting to where they're two weeks and that would be $$$$ because they would need an SUV just for their luggage. And even if I got the rental for while I'm there and drove, my dad's heart wouldn't take it. 😂

Actually we have a friend who retired from ABC radio so he's a retired CM and now he works at Kennedy as a tour guide.

See here's the thing about my dad: he's set in his ways. He also has this thing about just wanting to chill and look at stuff. If he can't do that, he's not interested. I haven't even been able to convince the man to go to Hersheypark. Nope. He wants to go to Disney and look at stuff. Walk through shops. He mostly wants to spend his time at Epcot or at the pool. Especially at Festival of the Arts because he can walk around and look at art. When we go to Hawaii, he hikes, but mostly he sits in the pool, he sits in the ocean, he stands around, and he looks at stuff. He does not swim, much less snorkel with me. He goes to Hilton Head and spends all his time riding his bike and sitting on the beach, but mostly riding his bike. I cannot get him to ride his bike at home because "I do not ride my bike at home. I ride my bike at Hilton Head." I may be able to talk him into going to Knott's Berry Farm if we go to Disneyland this year since it's 15 minutes away and I might be able to get one of the passes through work that includes it, so we can Uber over for the day. And if you suggest something that's not his idea, it's a bad one. You have to put it out there, then let him think of it, let him think it was his idea all along, and then it's a good one.

I do have good news: we're going to Williamsburg for a long weekend. B and I are going to Busch Gardens. My parents are going to the historic area where they can...look at stuff. 🙄

That must have been fun! Great photos, too. Curious -- what kind of snowshoes do you have? Not saying I'm getting any (at least not any time soon), but I have seen ones advertised in different sizes. Some were 22" and some were 25". Do you know that the difference in length makes, or is this something that corresponds more to the actual height of the person, who buys them?

The size of snowshoes also corresponds to the weight of the person. The heavier the person the longer the snowshoe should be. If you aren't very heavy 22" or 25" should be fine. We are thinking of getting smaller ones. I don't remember the brand of shoe we have it was a Black Friday special a few years ago. They are fun. Many places that have trails rent them so you could rent them and try out some different sizes to fine the best fit in case you do buy some someday. Our local library will check them out to people for free, just like a library book!

I don't even want to hear about the rant from my father when he comes home. 😑

They used to do vans and that's what they do for Disneyland, so unless there's another system (like a bus) that runs from the airport to the hotel, I'm guessing that's what they'll do.

I'll have to figure that out myself since I go separately from them to and from the airport. Probably a shared ride. I don't recall it being that bad when I did it in California, like $17 one way for just me, and LAX is further to Anaheim than MCO is to WDW.
last I seen(November last year) MCO to the Dolphin was 37 US roundtrip in a small van prepaid shuttle.
Taxis were above 45 USD :|
Disney Magical was still running.

I've been preaching that for years and have been ignored for years because of immersion. Oh, well!

Hopefully that comes to fruition, though that will be a pain with luggage
Disney had so much input on the train having a stop at Springs I have confidence Disney has already has a concept. Magical Express cost wise wasn’t working nor was the time commitment. We were using it less and less especially for shorter trips.

Buzz is Disney could absorb the train ticket cost which rack rate is expected to be $10 one way And be tacked into room rates just as Mears ME expenses are built into rooms. There is some expectation that luggage would travel in the same manner for resort guests as with ME, trucked by baggage tags. It wouldn’t matter if you were on a Mears bus or the train If what speculated plans are. The train would just be rapidly faster than buses and just the toll fees alone would be a major savings. Me, I’d welcome the change. Just odd that the 2021 end date for ME. I would hope that has some wiggle room if Disney Station is not ready to roll by January 2022.
