My dh needs to go back to work, YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In addition to shopping this morning we moved some stuff around in older ds' room including a shelf, put up new blinds after I cleaned his window(really try and stay out of their rooms :hungover:) at least his new mattress won't show up for a few more days. I feel a whole bunch of lazy coming on, or at least it will when the cooking is done

@StarWarsGirl has your family figured out how they will get to WDW next year?
I don't even want to hear about the rant from my father when he comes home. 😑

They used to do vans and that's what they do for Disneyland, so unless there's another system (like a bus) that runs from the airport to the hotel, I'm guessing that's what they'll do.

I'll have to figure that out myself since I go separately from them to and from the airport. Probably a shared ride. I don't recall it being that bad when I did it in California, like $17 one way for just me, and LAX is further to Anaheim than MCO is to WDW.

First record your father, post to youtube. It's sure to go viral;):angelic: Good luck with the rant! Is there any chance you can hide the news from him? I know UNI has some sort of van/shuttle thing that's about 35pp round trip. I'm sure something like that will pop up by then

No, he'll probably see it at work and then come home and rant. Either that or he'll see it on his iPad. Either way, there will be a rant.

I forgot to share my pictures from yesterday, hubs and I went snow shoeing at the Arboretum it was about 19 but all the exercise kept us warm. It was beautiful with all the frosty trees.

That must have been fun! Great photos, too. Curious -- what kind of snowshoes do you have? Not saying I'm getting any (at least not any time soon), but I have seen ones advertised in different sizes. Some were 22" and some were 25". Do you know that the difference in length makes, or is this something that corresponds more to the actual height of the person, who buys them?

The place that was ridiculous for shared rides was Hawaii. It was so expensive. The only cheap one I found had lei greetings... doesn't work for someone who turns into a balloon around leis. My mom said they weren't coming to get me at the airport...Dad already had thought they would come get me, and when they realized how expensive it was and the issues with the leis, they got me from the airport.

Meres still has vans you pay for by the person. When my son comes home while working down there that is how he would get to and from MCO. That is how we got to property prior to there being a magical express. @StarWarsGirl family would likely be better off getting an Uber XL. It ran about $50 when we stay at Swan and Dolphin and it usually one of giant SUVs. If they were good drivers I’d tip $10. Plus no 3 hours in advance.

The problem with the elimination of the buses is that there are people who have no other alternative. Not everyone has a drivers license or can get one, such as disabled people. And not everyone is comfortable or feels safe with ride sharing. And what about people with small children? They now also have to pack car seats along with all the other luggage. And people from the UK who drive on the left? I know I wouldn't feel comfortable driving in the UK....I can't imagine most of them want to drive in the US, either. And if you are coming from Europe or South America, you have a long flight, then have to rent a car and drive a car that you aren't used to on unfamiliar roads and with little sleep, OR hope that all the luggage you bring on your overseas trip for your whole family will fit in an uber. And for the foreigners, hope their English is good enough to communicate with the driver. There are just SO many issues. I sent an email to Disney already.

That's what I was thinking, but my dad is a worry wart about things running on time, making sure you have a vehicle to fit the luggage, etc... especially if Disney is doing away with airport check in as well, he's probably going to do the service in advance.

I'll probably have to figure it out when I reach that point. Right now I was doing the research, and a lot of these companies aren't doing shared rides because of covid, plus they might come up with services for cheaper now that there's no more ME.

Kennedy is a good no park day experience and you van finally take a day to go on all the UNI coasters;) The car will almost pay for itself in a trip to get groceries milk, water, soda, decent coffee or tea, sandwich fixings, snacks...........................
