Freezing rain and ice is the worst. Sorry to hear about your hip. Besides the scar I hope it hasn’t left you with you with any lingering problems.
I agree about Freezing rain and ice. I was horrible at ice skating even before the injury. I tried back in the late 1980s in grade school on a field trip. I was better at roller skating than ice skating before the hip injury.

I went for therapy for my hip back in the mid 1990s, but I do have issues that exist from that injury. I good news is I'm able to fix some balance issues caused from the injury. I have shoes that are able to handle to wet surfaces better.

The hip fracture caused my gait to be off and I am worse for walking on steps than I was prior to the injury.

Are they still doing those huge piles of burning pallets this year for New Year's? I saw that recently on the Disneyplus Above Europe series recently......wow!
No, I think that was banned this year. It went horribly wrong last year because they didn't follow the regulations and they made it WAY too high and it ended up being a disaster. It was really windy and the fire spread and the tower fell over. And they are trying to discourage groups, so they just announced a lockdown last night, and they banned fireworks this year except category 1, which is like sparklers and small fountains. It's fine for us because that's all we've ever done anyway. But they banned alcohol sales after 8:00pm months ago, you are not allowed to congregate outside with more than one other person from outside your own household, you may only invite 2 people to your home, and all non-essential stores, all schools, and all contact professions are closed. So I'm pretty sure the bonfires are banned.

I live outside of "town" as in the word town is a bit of a joke;). Trees higher than all the houses:banghead: I'll have 2 fridges worth of food cooked by the time the storm starts
On the upside, if the power goes out, you don't have to worry about a freezer!

How much are you supposed to get? In Wyoming 6 inches would be nothing, but here I think I have only seen that much once if ever. And I don't ever remember the power going out here during a storm, but it happened in Wyoming all the time. We used to line all the windows with plastic tarp to help insolate, then hang blankets over them and across the doors to keep heat in and cold out.

Last time I looked 2 feet+. As I said 6 inches is no big deal but once we hit a foot we're in for a couple of days. Dh isn't on the sleep over emergency team, one of the perks of being on nights

Speaking of wine and alcohol in general, I get really sad that they don't sell it here in supermarkets and online. Stupid state laws.

Beer and wine are sold here in convenience and grocery stores. Liquor is sold only in liquor stores, but, they also sell beer and wine.
Never tried to buy any booze online here, but, best I can tell, it’s still illegal.

I'm the opposite. I will ice skate. I do not roller skate. Something about the wheels freaks me out. I guess it's because with ice skates, you get off the ice and you're just walking on really weird shoes. With roller skates, you cannot escape them. You are on wheels until those things are off your feet. They feel unweildy to me. Don't like them.

I think the last time I got asked to roller skate was right before my college graduation and I was like, "Oh, I can't risk hurting myself right now!" Haven't been asked since.

Retail management is one heck of a grind.

Yep, I was a Lead Manager at our local mall (now defunct) Disney Store for over a year. Between reconciling 3 tills, whether opening or closing, or both on a Sunday, making sure replenishment happened from backstage in a timely manner, dealing with CM’s callin’ out, and tryin’ to get another CM to come in to cover their shift, product issues, etc., etc., etc., it could be some serious fun...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:
But, ultimately, I handled it all, and both SM’s absolutely LOVED me...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
It definitely wasn’t easy, but, I learned sooo very much about myself and people in general during that time.
Just be nice...don’t be too crazy overly exuberant...just be nice, and pleasant, and Guests will be comfortable.
The opposite was kinda’ taught to us initially, but, I never went for it...folks wanna’ feel welcomed, but, not overjuiced in that way...!!! :)

You know I could use a lead manager down here...but no half day Fridays! 😉

All the stuff:

1. Bought a serious used jazz collection that was so much fun to sort through, and is juicing sales very nicely.

2. Had a cyst removed this afternoon. Procedure was no big deal, but I’ve been pretty uncomfortable since the local wore off. I may or may not be a little chemically assisted right now. I also discovered a salted caramel chocolate chip cookie from The Fresh Market on my way home, and should have gotten two. Those may be part of my holiday gifts for everyone this year, worth the diet cheat.

3. Should get an answer on the store expansion in the next few days! Trying not to get too excited about it in case it falls through. (Too late!)

4. Before I even got to tell you guys that the sparkle was back in Kylie’s eyes, I came home from work after midnight a few days ago, and she was limp-hopping like a kangaroo (I think on a different paw!?) Brian said she was fine when he went to bed, so we have no idea what happened. We’ve seen only a slight improvement, and I’m starting to get concerned about certain scenarios.

5. WDW is likely off the table for Christmas. The cabins are $700. The Keys aren’t looking good, either. Thinking about dinner out with cousin Tif.

Found some of a certain series of CD box sets, I think about ten. Must’ve paid about $2 each. Turned out to average $100 each in value. Now that’s some margin! (If we can find a buyer.)

Night!
