I'm so sorry to hear that and hope you're not in too much pain. Is there anything you can do to make yourself more comfortable until the surgery? ps Listen to your doctor and Mrs W.
Today was approaching my limit of Vicodin, which thanks to “the efforts to combat addiction” in the "great" state of New York my doctors won't be giving me any more of.

So it was also today: Vicodin, the heavy duty Ibuprofen, one muscle relaxer (that stuff puts me to sleep so if you hear snoring coming through your speakers you'll know why) and icy hot and it still hurts.

They are going to be switching me to something else for pain management. Shorter term we're going to try out everything to see what helps.

But as one of my coworkers said the other day? How are you even walking? And that was before I knew about the spinal fracture.

Good luck with the new meds as for the snoring you can't be as bad as my dh, at least he gets up at 8 tonight

Wow, what caused all that. Were you in an accident of some sort?
Lifetime of injuries from playing football and being a firefighter.

What may have set it off in June. I was lifting a gun safe via a dolly out of a coworker's basement. Stupidly it was just Willmark Jr and I. We got it to the top of the steps and pop! Willmark Jr is on the stairs below and I'm in horrible pain. Somehow I gutted through it and got it down the stairs. If I hadn't? It would have tumbled down the stairs and crushed him against the wall... stupid, very stupid on my part. I don't think that caused it but might have been *ahem* "straw that broke the camel's back"

Ugh, hated that muscle relaxer stuff. I got put on it because I've been in two different car accidents that have messed up my back. I stopped using it and switched to Advil.

My aunt had several back surgeries, including one for a fracture, and I know her heating pad is her best friend.

When watching football on Sunday's its heating pad and Scotch, for medicinal purposes that is...

Some I know have tried acupuncture and are satisfied with the results.

OK, one more You Tube find. If you can spare 45 minutes you need to watch this Disney Studio's Tour in California. It was fascinating and if you have the same respect and amazement about the man that I have had over the years, you will find this emotional and inspiring and informative. A plain old Trifecta of joy. A lot of the video is Walt's Actual office in the Animation Building exactly as he left it on the day that he passed away. Really worth the time invested.

Well gang, remember when I posted about my back? Turns out it's even worse than I knew.

Met with the doctor today to go over my MRI, turns out I also have a fracture in my back that has not healed since early June and won't until... you guessed it surgery. Time frame YTBD, my guess is late Spring.

So for those playing the home game?
* four bulging disks
* one spinal hernia
* one vertebrate shifted 7mm
* one vertebrate fractured

Goodness gracious. I'm so sorry, and as your co worker said, how the heck are you remaining upright, never mind walking!

That sounds familiar, except that I was on flat ground.

Mine is as well. A nice, big, heavy one - since 2005.

After about 12 years, it broke. I bought the same model on Amazon for less than half what I had paid at the surgical supply store all those years ago. The updated model is a little different. It annoyed me until I got used to it.

When I was recovering from not walking or being upright for over two months, it was everything!

Oh, I like that! :happy: (Just a reminder, as you mnentioned you hadn't had a real tree in some time -- please be sure to check the water level daily -- especially at the beginning, when it will be taking in extra water each day. Turn off lights nightly, as you know, to prevent a possible fire hazard, particularly as the tree gets drier in the weeks to come.)

Enjoy! I'm thinking in about a week, to get ours, too! :) Hey, what does Kylie think about the tree? ;)

What do dogs usually think about real trees...?!!! ;)
Although, a lit tree could potentially present a whole other issue...!!!!! :hilarious:
