Thought I'd join the conversation about shoes and boots.

Occasionally, I'll wear either black or brown multi-purpose shoes (open-back clogs, no dressy shoes). I have 3 pairs of different height boots for snow (including an older pair of pack Sorels, for deep snow). Yup, still have my "real" Canadian Sorels (before Columbia bought their company). I don't have any dressy boots. What I live in most of the time are sneakers -- I have 5 pairs -- gotta be sure I have a color to complete my ensemble! :p (Black, brown suede, navy with lavender accents, black with fuchsia accents, and white with silver). :)
I tend to keep things simple... I have a pair of New Balance that I wear on a daily basis and another pair of New balance (old) that I use when golfing. I also have (put away someplace) a pair of insolated boots. I don't even remember where I put them. I might have even given them to charity. I have had no need for them since I moved to NC almost 10 years ago. Oh, I forgot that pair of cloth Vans that I occasionally use as all purpose slippers.

P.S. I just remembered that I have a pair of black slip-on leather shoes. The last time I wore them was about 5 years ago, I keep them in case I'm called upon to be semi-formal.

So Baltimore County Public Schools servers got hit by malware. They had to cancel virtual learning today.

Virtual schooling is cancelled because of a computer virus.

I laughed. Hard.
I'm still scratching my head how a single virus can affect multiple separate systems.
Do they use proprietary or a centralized system or what?
Why would it affect classes by individual teachers from their homes?

I think because they all have devices that are school-issued and it got into one of their main servers.

I'll have to ask my one former coworker. She has a degree in IT security and is currently rolling her eyes.

You know, I have tried introducing Italian elements to the holidays of this Irish/German family.

Often met with blank stares. Sometimes with "yum." Mostly blank stares.

I made baked ziti for Easter one time (as the first main course, per usual in an Italian home!) They ate it, but were confused.

I've made stuffed artichokes for Thanksgiving, and they were slightly horrified. Thought about doing them this year, I know the friend would appreciate it, but no one else will - and I have a boatload of work to do so...

I've made breaded shrimp and shrimp scampi for Christmas Eve to add to whatever they had (bringing "two" of seven fishes.) They were confused but loved the breaded shrimp.

These were all mostly large family events.

And last year, I posted here when I made my Grandma's lobster gravy for Christmas day just for us, Dad, WSM, and cousin. That went over well.

Just hanging back this year. Although, I may get some honeybaked ham. (We always liked the ham better than the turkey.)

Between all our family Holidays (including DWifeys moms side with over 150 attending their annual thanksgiving/family reunion...cancelled this year, of course) we always have the staples like turkey, stuffing/dressing, ham, cranberry sauce, etc., but there’s always other delicious stuff, like boiled shrimp, jalapeño poppers, venison, pork ribs, pork loin, etc., etc., etc., and the list goes on...!!!!! :hilarious:

Owie, owie. :( What a drag. People with back medical issues really have a tough time. (I've known a few, aside of yourself.) The only positive thing is that now the doctor can see exactly the areas affected, after the MRI. That's critical information, right there.

Glad to hear that you will have an appt. with the spine specialist on the 30th, and I hope the dr. can find a solution, to relieve your pain. We're all pulling for you here, and please let us know how you're doing.

Yep, have had a bulging disk and a cyst on my spine for a while now. Left foot pretty numb always, right foot no so much. I walk perfectly fine, but, don’t think I’ll be runnin’ no marathons anytime soon...!!! ;)
Funny... I ran my rear off playin’ soccer for all those years, and now maybe I still could because my feet wouldn’t feel it, but, my heart sure as hell still would...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:

Gotta love Sly! His cousin had a pizza place called Stallone's Italian Kitchen down the road from Universal Studios Orlando. He had pictures of his actor cousin on the walls. The location closed several years ago. I saw Sly at Grand Cypress resort in Orlando about 25 years ago at a bar. It was around the time he was acting in The Specialist with Sharon Stone in South Florida. He actually is a short guy up close not like what you see in pictures but he was in incredible shape. All of us at the bar and fellow guests were reserved. We knew who he was and no one approached him.

That’s cool...!!!!! :)
Yep, both Sly and Tom cruise are short-ish. I’m not tall myself at 5’-9”, but I’m old now, and used to be 5’-10”...!!!!! :hilarious:
And yes, Stallone could waste me in a second...Tom Cruz, no...!!!!!!! 🤪🤣

Many years ago, a friend at work and I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appeared on some sort of panel. He was wearing a suit and sitting at a long table other others. (Location was a shopping mall in the city.)

In person, he seemed smaller than on TV. I remember he had on light blue cowboy boots with the suit. He seemed very flirty and was trying to catch the eye of all the women watching (people were standing around the circumference of the table).

According to the googles...
Schwarzenegger is 6’-2”, Stallone is 5’-10”, and Cruz is 5’-7”.
