Well, that's good if you could go (if there weren't any flight restrictions, etc., for example), you'd probably still enjoy the trip. I think my original point was directed more for the people who have enjoyed all the special lights, etc., during the holidays down there. For them in particular, it would probably be a big disappointment. (I've read in trip forums for example, about a number of people who go every years specifically at Christmas for all the extra displays, lighting, etc.)

For people like yourself or me (who have never been during the holidays), it may not be noticed as much.
Yeah, if we didn't have flight bans and such, now would be a great time to go. But since school is already started, the kids wouldn't be able to go until Christmas break anyway. Or maybe fall break in October, but then you only have a week. But it would be nice to be there without the crowds! Our honeymoon was 2 weeks after September 11th, so the parks were empty then and it was great.

@figmentfan423 your yoga/wine post reminded me about your ankle. How is the healing coming along? Will you be able to get back to your regular yoga workouts soon?
Thank you for asking. Monday I get to switch from the boot to an ace bandage:joyfull: I'd probably be just about totally healed if it wasn't preserving season as staying off my feet didn't happen. With luck next week or the week after I should be able to start back slowly

The dh should sleep in the yard today! I made pasta with ground beef, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic a bit of cream and he asked what's missing:rolleyes::cautious: Er um SALT!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That sounds really good. Surprised he missed the salt, considering all those other ingredients. Curious -- is there some sort of salt substitute for people like him, who are trying to cut down on salt?
