A kid..looked like somewhere between age 10-12, just pooped his pants on a ride. I feel so terrible for him. We’re all supposed to stay seated until told to go (staggered exit), he got up, the workers yelled 3 times for him to sit down.. but he just got up and walked in a daze. Looked like he was in complete shock. :(. It was all over the back of his shorts.. I hope whoever he was with, took him immediately to the restroom.
Good news is, the park is closed, so it was the last ride anyway.
Oh no, the poor kid.

Warning for all who have kids going back to school (temperature checks), or going anywhere with temperature checks., This happened yesterday

T’s mask broke right before boarding Orion.. here’s how I tied it up, so we didn’t have to exit after waiting in line for over an hour.

Then this (sorry, too lazy to type)

I did not realize the temp scans are so sensitive. I should have, as my nephew was denied summer camp entrance one day last month.. he had been crying on the way in, which raised his temp to 100.1. They did not allow a rescan.

Just a tip - don’t cry, run, or speed walk just beforehand!

We have had that worry too. I packed up ziploc bags for our disney park days with two disposables and a cloth mask for each of us so if something happens to one mask we have others.

That’s smart! I always keep a box of disposables in the car.. typically put 2 extras in ziplock bag and in my handbag. Never had one break while out, went bagless yesterday (hate paying for lockers), and of course it happens during that excursion.

@ajrwdwgirl Does Disney have fans near the temperature stations? I’d assume the same thing could happen there, probably more often.
The only comfort I've ever seen is at meet and greet locations with the celebrities during DHS Star Wars Weekends and ABC Super Soap Weekends back in the day. The celebrity signs autographs under a small tent and is cool as a cucumber because of a portable AC unit underneath their feet.

Also, school is requiring lanyards for masks. So when kids are eating they can hang them without dropping or contaminating. It’s actually a great idea.. we always set ours on napkins while eating, but I think I’m going to have T start using a lanyard for recreation, especially during soccer when on sidelines and needs a drink or breather.

Yep I’ve been using a lanyard for my mask too. So has hubs.

I’m ordering uniforms right now.. almost wondering if I should scale back in case school goes virtual... but also don’t want to miss the sale.

Anyway, T goes to a different uniform this year for the upper grades, he’s really excited about it.
The girls will go to skirts instead of jumpers this year, I remember feeling so grown up and excited when that happened, back when I was in school.

I just spent a boat load of money on new curriculum because of a sale. I always forget how expensive curriculum is until I buy it. I wish I would just buy a little bit at a time during the year for the next but I never know what I want to do until about a couple of weeks before school starts. Bonus of homeschool is I don't have to go crazy with clothes. Oldest is starting college next Monday but she hasn't bugged me about needing anything new.

Can the girls wear pants? Sorry but it seems a little old fashioned for girls to have to wear skirts.

A friend of mine (Who homeschools) just posted all her books/curriculum for her kids this year. I love how things can be unconventional!.. but wow, I know it’s so much work for all of you! I have so much respect for that.

I don’t think so, I’ve seen many at pick up who wear leggings under their skirts in winter.
We always joke about former catholic school girls being able to tolerate dresses or skirts in the winter, because our legs lost all feeling by 2nd grade.

I should add that the schools have evolved. When I was in school, we wore button up shirts and penny loafers. The boys wore ties and jackets, and dress shoes.
Now, they’re all allowed to wear sneakers, button up shirts replaced with polos. The girl shirts have an elastic band at the bottom, so they fold over without needing to be tucked in. I would have loved that when I was younger.
