I’m guessing she chased something and moved the wrong way. If she’s after a cat, iguana, opossum, or squirrel, there is no thought process, just run!

Hahaaa...!!!!! :hilarious:
Not to make too light of it, but, that sounds like our Ranger Danger...no less than 3 times he appears to have done similar, and we even witnessed it once...SQUIRREL (or, insert whatever distraction ;))...!!!!! :hilarious:
He’s always been fine in a coupla’ days, hope Kylie is same...!!! :)

It was cool here today. Had a high of 89. 😉

Again.......not hot enough...!!!!! :D:hilarious:;)
Gonna’ get cooler here over the weekend, as it looks like that tropical depression off the Gulf is gonna’ make it’s way through the lower half of the state, and they’re sayin’ we could get 1-3 inches of rain. Hopefully, just rain, as we could use a little during these usual dry times of the summer for us...!!! :)

Hiho! Works keeping me super busy right now... and I haven't even been able to log on during the day to read! BOOO!

Day off tomorrow, one of my Aunts is in town from GA, and I'm going to go to lunch with her.

Speaking of Aunt duties... I bought my niece a kid sewing machine a couple of years ago, and she used the heck out of it, and it died... so last night I got her a beginners adult sewing machine... so I spent the evening with her last night going over how to fill a bobbin, thread the machine, and stitch on it of course... We restrung the machine several times to make sure she got the hang of it. She was so excited, and that makes me so happy!

That is a funny story about your dad! Maybe when you plan your next trip to the states, I think you mentioned wanting to go back to Wyoming, you could plan for state fair time. I have been to 3 state's State Fairs, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. I like Minnesota's the best but that is probably because that is the one I've been to the most.
Yeah, I tried to look up the dates for next Summer, but it's not listed yet. I remember it was always right at my brother's birthday towards the end of August, but the last couple of years, it looks like it was pushed up to the middle of August, which would be doable. Our other option is Cheyenne Frontier Days, but that's considerably larger than the Wyoming state fair, and would most likely be too overwhelming for A. On the other side, Garth Brooks apparently announced that he'll be performing at Cheyenne Frontier Days next year, and I love his music, so that would be awesome...but concert tickets there are EXPENSIVE. And there's no way A could handle that, so I'd have to go myself, which isn't as fun. State Fair would be more doable. Upside is by that time, I should have my drivers license back, so I can actually drive myself places. Upside of CFD is that I have friends in Cheyenne that would most likely let us stay with them and they have kids around my kids' age who get along really well, and we'd probably have a blast with them, and A might not notice the crowds as much. We wouldn't necessarily need to do the rodeo. Do you go to the rodeos and stuff at the state fairs that you go to or what do you do?

My wife is originally from Asia...but she has lived here since 1999. She asked me what the scraper was called and I wanted to say "spatula"...yet since I knew she'd seen me for 20 years use the "spatula" to flip the grilled cheese ...well I thought that answer wouldn't make any sense. When you are married to someone who grew up speaking with another language, over our 20 years of marriage I constantly notice words in the English language that have multiple meanings. Numerous words!😉
Speaking as someone who lives in a different country from that in which I grew up, those differences are sometimes confusing, and those things make the language hard. But you learn. She may be confused the first time you call it a spatula, but once you've explained it, she'll know next time. One of the hardest things for me with the Dutch language is the different words for a similar thing. Like....you have the prepesitions, and when you talk about finishing a book, movie, etc, you use different ones. You finish a book, its "I read it out." You finish eating, it's " I ate it on." You finish a movie, it's "I watched it off". But they all mean you're done. Then the worde change/exchange. To change the oil in your car is "verfrissen". To make change with money is "wisselen". To change the nature of something is "veranderen". To exchange goods is "ruilen". Changing tires is "verwisselen" and change like to replace is "vervangen". Every language has its challenges...but I'm sure your wife is smart enough to learn new things. I learn new things in Dutch literally every day. There's always something new to learn...a different application of a word, a different word for something, a new expression. Have faith in your wife....she's been doing this for 20 years. She's probably used to it.

I saw there are lots of potential storms that may impact a lot of the country. We have had 3 days of numerous rain storms. We needed it so not complaining.

DS celebrated his birthday yesterday. He requested French toast for breakfast, which will happen on Saturday. Lunch, no requests. Dinner was tacos from a local joint. And for dessert, rhubarb upside down cake. The last Birthday he had with my mom, she got out of bed -- the cancer was pretty bad by then-- and insisted we pick rhubarb from the patch out back for it. He helped his Grandma make it. Mom made it another 4 months after that. Now, every year, DS wants this cake. This was probably the first time I could make it without tearing up, and just enjoy the memories of that particular day.
Happy belated to your ds. That is so sweet that he wants that cake every year. What a great way to help him keep your moms memory alive.

Nothin’. As I posted, it was a “virtual” luncheon...!!!!! :D:hilarious:
JK, LOL, and all that jazz...!!! ;)

Actually...arugula, mushrooms, cheese, diced red peppers and onions, green olives, asparagus, and olive oil (and I’m probably forgettin’ somethin’ 🤔).
All the veggies appeared to be lightly sautéed.
And, the chocolate chunk cookie was gluten free.
It was all pretty darn tasty...!!!!! :hungry:
Aside from the olives that sounds delicious. I don't like olives. Tried them numerous times thinking I should like them, but I don't. I like olive oil though.:hilarious:

Seems fine!

We had been considering a couple or three nights in the middle Keys next week. It would be a lot like sitting home, but more drinking and no chores! Depends how everyone is feeling, availability to book using trade dollars, etc.

Sometimes I feel like I’m one more thing away from snapping. Then two more things happen. A little break would be nice.
Hope you can get away for a couple of nights. One of my friends dads rented an RV for them a few weeks back because they of course couldn't go away. They had it in their driveway and camped for a few days in their driveway. She said it was fun.

I saw Garth Brooks in concert when I was in college. He put on a good show, that was when a lot of performers were balking at the Ticketmaster fees. So in support of his fans he had all tickets be like $20 or maybe it was $25. Would E like going with you to that?

I don't think there has every been a rodeo at the MN fair, horse shows and other animal showings. There is a city north of where I live that has rodeo days but that is really the only one I've heard of around here. Rodeos are that big around me. The first rodeo I ever went to was a few years about when we were in Cody Wy before going to Yellowstone. We had to leave early because it was super dusty and it kept getting in our eyes, we wore our sunglasses until it got to dark. Next time I go to a rodeo I'm bringing my Chem goggles!

Usually at the state fair we sample lots of super bad for us foods, walk around and look at the displays and 4-H displays. We see how many freebies we can snag from vendors watch some of the free music acts, and eat some more! We used to do some rides but now we just put our money towards the bad for us food.:joyfull:

I think E would enjoy the environment of the concert, but I doubt she knows who Garth Brooks is....might not be her kind of music.
