Earl hahaha. ❤ I had a hip injury. Try a standard bed pillow between thigh and knee when falling asleep. Less intrusive than Earl and it levels the knee with the hip removing the pressure on hip.

I was a fan of the Dixie Chicks too and lots of country. Still though I love Classic Soft Rock Coming of age in the early 80s. Sadly females bands were easy targets rock or country. The sexism has not evolved much in music land in the 21st century, it is still right there front and center.
I tried a regular pillow first, but it didn't help. I also had a little foam thing specifically formed to go bewteen your knees to elevate the hip. It worked, but not as well as Earl. With Earl, I can adjust my position in whatever way a need and still have support.

I'm rather eclectic in my music....I'm a child of the 80s, so I love a lot of that, I grew to love Jazz in college when I was forced to audition for and then participate in vocal jazz to keep my scholarship. I am not a fan of opera, though I don't mind singing it. 50s music is a lot of fun. I like a lot of different things. My voice is most suited to Jazz or Musicals because I don't have as much vibrato, but I have a higher range than most pop music. But there are very few genres I can't stomach. But yes, the music and entertainment industty in general is rife with discrimination. But that's a topic for a different thread that I don't dare to venture into! :p It would probably give me an aneurysm.

Myrtle Beach is a big tourist destination --copied from a news article

Myrtle Beach was bracing Wednesday for an invasion of Fourth of July weekend revelers undeterred by reports that the South Carolina tourist mecca has been identified as a coronavirus hot spot.

These people will come from out of state and good chance they will take it home

So my DD had an odd Baltimore MD experience this week of chance encounters. Most computer engineering grad schools are online for major universities, stands to reason given the field of computers So they have students around the country in their program. My DD had a women from the Baltimore area as a partner in a group project. She learned through the weeks her husband was also in the same program as they were as time went on.

My DD Huge firm that she has been with since early October is held by a Mother Company that also has 3 other subsidiaries On the East Coast Greater Baltimore being one. The mother Company annually has teams competing between their subsidiaries for best computer innovations. My DD was not part of the competition as she was hired after the teams were inventing already. She was asked to sit in on via zoom the layers of advancing as for next seasons completions. Her Department ultimately won this year. Then they went onto individual innovations awards. And up came the gentleman that she was in grad school with. He was awarded third place. Given the hundreds of thousands of employees 3rd place an honor. She shot off a text to the mans wife that she was in a group project with asking her to send congrats to him. Small World of being in classes with him for 2 years and tripping across a couple so far away while observing a competition.

And a kudos to my DD. She had an honorable mention for an APP she built that was not submitted for the competition as she didn’t work there yet by the team deadline but was recognized as an up and coming new hire. Proud.
Congratulations to your daughter! That's a pretty big thing! Will she participate in the competition next year?

What an incredible job. I love the modern style for the creativeness. Your client should be thrilled.

I always find personal interpretations interesting. For your client, you knocked it out of the park, and this is his new home sweet home. (For my simple tastes, it looks more like like a modern-styled office building to me. ) Then again, I'm not forward thinking in my living arrangements--my home of choice would be a small log cabin in the woods. ;)

P.S.: If I had a cabin in the woods, I'd invite Figgy's dear deer (her BFF :inlove:) to come and visit me! :joyfull:
I swear you are living in the wrong state!! You know Wyoming has a lot of cabins in the woods and they have cold winters with plenty of snow. I think you'd like it.

There's going to be a large gathering at Mount Rushmore on the 4th and there will be no distancing or masks required. I expect they will see a massive rise in cases in a week or 2, and a lot of those people will probably be out-of-staters. Possibly Wyoming, North Dakota...will have to keep an eye on numbers!

Is there a central website that gives all the rules by county/city? Where I live, I have Dayton just north of me, Cincinnati just south, Kentucky right across the river from Cincy, and Indiana to the west. These areas contain about 8 counties that I frequent. 5 where I spend most of my time.

None of them have the same mask rules.. I’ve tried to search individually but it’s tough..Anyone else in an area like this?

It's called Americans think were better than everyone else and dare I say politics.

But my state has started sports. There is a stadium down my street where the high school plays that had a youth football (American football) camp, a baseball game the next day and today is something, I didn't see what is was.

I've noticed a lot of advertising on my local (from Minneapolis/St. Paul) tv station for Myrtle Beach in the last two weeks. I thought that was a little strange because I thought their Covid numbers were going up and I never noticed the advertising being so heavy for Myrtle Beach before. Just an observation from 1300 miles away.

It's all about the money------- recent statement by the Mayor of Myrtle Beach
As more communities say they have coronavirus cases tied to Grand Strand trips, Myrtle Beach’s mayor called the reports “disheartening” and rejected calls for closing tourist activities. IMO sad

Maybe that commercial was "booked", scheduled and paid for many weeks ago?

It might have been booked awhile ago but advertisers can book slots quickly too. I guess my point was that tourist areas are reaching out even to far away markets trying to get people to come back and that the marketing might be ramping up. There were 5 Myrtle Beach ads this morning in about an hour of watching. I have no way of knowing, but it would be interesting to know how they are targeting areas. The Covid numbers in Minnesota have been at a steady decline so it would be interesting to know if tourist sights are looking at places with numbers coming down and placing advertisements there in hopes that those people have the travel itch. I have nothing against Myrtle Beach, it was lovely when I was there a few years ago.

I'm sure it is all about money. Its a tough call for tourist and really any community these days. People need money to pay bills and people need to stay healthy too. I'm just glad I don't have to make any of these decisions for anyone other than myself (and I guess my husband too).

Good Morning! This week off has gone WAY too fast! I can't believe I only have 3 days left!

Yesterday's fun was paying for a new igniter for my gas oven... It's been misbehaving for about 2 years now... sometimes it'll light, sometimes it won't, sometimes it'll take 45 minutes and then light. I was tired of playing and finally called a guy to come replace it. He charged me more than I thought he should have because I did all the diagnosing... but meh... it's finally done and now my oven lights in 25 seconds or less!

Currently I'm preheating my dutch oven so I can bake the bread I've had proofing overnight. YUM!

The number of cases here in SC continues to go up yesterday 1300 new case state wide and 24 deaths one was a young adult. Mandatory masks now required in Charleston and MT Pleasant in all public places. This is just not going away any time soon, vaccine can't come soon enough.

I have friends who are on vacation in Hilton Head right now.. They are wearing masks inside, but I didn’t see any photos wearing outside. Is it required outdoors as well?

It's called Americans think were better than everyone else and dare I say politics.

But my state has started sports. There is a stadium down my street where the high school plays that had a youth football (American football) camp, a baseball game the next day and today is something, I didn't see what is was.

Baseball started in June, here.. Contact sports started back up this week. Pools are open, though do have some changes for social distancing.

I noticed a definite down shift in mask wearing after the riots and protests were about a week in..we’re being told the protests didn’t cause a spike, so I just have a hard time understanding why a mask is required outside. Inside in closed spaces is different. I still wear a mask at work, and whenever I go inside a business... I just don’t want an outdoor requirement. I’m really worried about Saturday at Kings Island.

The thing is, almost all people who are wearing a mask outside, are not handling it properly any way. They remove and put back on, which then has a high probability for contamination. The whole thing is just so full of contradictions, that’s why so many people are confused.

What kind of bread? Glad you got your oven fixed, bummer that the guy charged more than you thought he should but like you said at least it is fixed. We have a button going out on our oven, it is a frequently used button to adjust the temperature. I have to press it super hard to get it to go but hubs thinks it is fine for now.

Well if the tourist boards in the high risk Covid 19 states are deliberately reaching out to other state's residents to encourage them to come....that is crazy of them. Some things are more important than money. Obviously we think so. I wish they would agree.

I see ads for Michigan, SC, and Tennessee often right now. I agree with ajrwgirl that they’re in a very tough spot. There so many areas who are supported almost entirely from tourism, if they don’t open, and businesses close (permanently), people start losing their homes, etc, then I don’t know if that’s the right thing either. I think they’re all trying to find a balance of generating income, while staying as safe as possible with guidelines- modifications to hotels, restaurants, activities.. that way they don’t completely starve, but aren’t ignoring the current situation.

That is a good way to look at it. I'm glad you presented that viewpoint.
How are things in Ohio Covid-19-wise?
Doing reasonably well in Ohio....correct?

I honestly don’t know. Our governor says that we’re spiking and increasing public emergency, though my county is orange, but the county with Cincinnati is in red, as is our west neighbor, and north, 2 of which we’re all in almost daily.

Like I said though, things are reopening (but still not everything), sports have resumed now (with some modifications), and he’s not calling for that to stop, but talking about mandatory masks in public.

To say I’m confused is an understatement. I feel like I don’t really know what’s going on.

ETA- to make sense of that- the area on the southwest corner- Butler, Warren, Hamilton, Clermont- we’re all one area “Greater Cincinnati”, many people in 2-3 of the counties on any given day.
