Nail supplies that came out to what I would have spent at the tech so far. I'll be ahead in a couple of months:D I don't want to talk about my food budget:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
Post thyroid-loss change #172 - my skin now burns under gel lamps. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I DIY myself mostly and then go maybe twice a year, but I have to put on sunscreen beforehand and apply aloe afterward. Otherwise I get nice tiny blisters on my skin afterwards. Toes I do at home and just do two regular coats of nail polish, put on sunscreen, and then do a top coat of gel. They usually last me a month and get through the pool, ocean, etc. For Manis, I usually get a mani before vacations twice a year or DIY a light color with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and touch up during vacation. At home, I'll do the same thing with the regular mail polish and the gel top coat with the sunscreen.

I have no idea why no longer having a thyroid has done such weird things to my body.

Ours closed years ago. And it is probably just as well. I have no idea how any buffet is going to be able to reasonably adapt the entire business model, without a huge investment. The changes we see in a regular business are already a high unexpected expenditure. It will be interesting to see how the problem is handled.
Ours in N IL though long closed, it is a post office now could have easily adapted. In stead of buffet it could have been cafeteria style. There is adequate space for servers to dole out food In both hot and cold tray areas.

Manny’s Deli in Chicago since 1942 never moved to self serve. Wise 29B37A0C-40E2-457E-8F60-F0BCB32A4630.jpeg

Almost all Disneys Buffets are also capable of cafeteria vs self serve too. Imagineered as an either or. Sweet Tomatoes and Soup Plantation were all failing long before the pandemic.

To be clear not many of us can claim to be from here by heritage. The overwhelming majority of families relatives hail from others countries. My Grandparents from Ireland.

The attitude of you are not from here whether as anyone moves from state to state shouldn’t need to be condemned or justified Or have a finger pointed at. Cause you were not born in a particular their state. It is in our constitution that free movement from state to state is a liberty we all can enjoy if we so choose.

My niece just moved to Cali as her hubby took a job offer from the The Walt Disney Corp. Freedom of movement Is alive and well in the US. Who cares if anyone is not from a particular state originally. Drives me nuts.

I have an odd question for those of you who buy the Disney Plus. The answer is probably no, but do you know if you can buy (rent) an occasional show (i.e., such as Hamilton)? Or, do you have to pay the monthly subscription which includes all their programs (most of which I have no interest in)?

Monthly subscription. All the content is then free.

Good Morning... Happy Sunday!

Making a new version of bread today... this one adds a cup of oatmeal to the normal ingredient... I'll be interesting to see how we feel about it!

Big win today.... my pants were getting to big and I've been wearing a belt... so I decided to try on a skort that was previously too tight for me, and they fit! Not complaining about that!

On Friday hubs and I took a crazy Adventure. We were supposed to be in WDW but of course that did happen. But we still wanted to go somewhere so we have been talking about going to Kansas City for awhile, we wanted to see some stuff related to the Disney's including a stop in Marceline and of course eat Kansas City BBQ. So I planned a short trip for us to leave this Monday but as we thought about it more and with rising cases in many places we weren't totally comfortable going away for several nights. BUT we still wanted to do something, so our crazy idea was to just drive down to Marceline Missouri and visit the Walt Disney Hometown Museum and drive around the town. We figured our inside contact would be the museum and gas stations in which we could (and did) wear masks. And we could pack our our meals in our cooler. What's the crazy part....well it is about a 7 hour drive away and we planned to go there and come back in the same day! And that's just what we did and it was totally worth the long drive.

The museum was fantastic and had information on the whole family, some park stuff, and since it was in the old Santa Fe train station some train stuff. There were a decent amount of people at the museum but it wasn't packed and everyone respected social distancing. Here are a few pictures from the museum.

Midget Autopia had been an attraction at Disneyland and when it was removed Walt & Roy donated it to their hometown where it did operate for awhile but has been removed. They are running a campaign to refurbish it.

The painting was done by Marc Davis. The bench was one that people could sign at the D23 Expo, they had ones from 2017 and 2019. We tried to find our signature since we knew we had signed in both years but alas we couldn't find it.

Many items in the museum had been donated by Ruth (the Disney brother's sister) including letters from Walt, Roy, and their parents. It was so interesting reading the ones that they had on display. Apparently she kept all the letters and the museum has them all. I think it would be awesome if the museum put them in a book, I would buy it.

This is a mural done to represent the Dreaming Tree from the Disney farm in which Walt said he spent a lot of time under and spent his time dreaming. Notice some hidden Mickeys.
