Yeah, I think they also did it the way they did it because in junior year they switch over the upper level English kids to AP English. So they do teach you grammar there because there is some of it on the AP Comp exam. They don't in senior year for the AP literature exam. I also continued with the Spanish so I could take the AP exam; I was in Spanish 4 when I was a sophomore and was like, eh, why stop now. And then when I was in school, there weren't alternating days. Now they have A/B days and longer classes, like 90 minutes each; IDK if they take 7 classes or 8 nowadays. And yes, not getting a full PE credit was indeed stupid.

Oh, and then there was engineering, which I was just plain bad at. This is going to sound really horrible, but most of the assignments were partner-based, and I found a partner who was Korean and super good at that class. His English was a little lacking and some of his drawings were messy, and he couldn't write neatly to save his life. So I told him do the draft of the drawing, explain what he was doing to me, and I'd write all of the explanations, and he could design and build to his heart's content and just let me know if he needed help or if there was something simple he wanted me to do. It worked really well; we both got A's. But yeah, no way would I have passed without him. :hilarious:
It is good you got the right partner for your engineering class. That sounded just like the right combination. You did all the writing and he did all the drawing and designing. A really good team. I actually hate working in groups because there is always one in the group that doesn't want to do anything. You would think that would be me, but it is not. I do what I have to do. I don't go overboard with it, but I do my work. I hate those type of projects.

It is with great sadness I'm letting you know @DisneyDebNJ passed away on June 8th. She was a friend to many on this site, a wife, mother Disney nerd, Jersey girl and the one who renamed me Figgy. She is and will be missed:cry::cry::cry:
You forgot, lover of Pluto, and friend to our old friend, Cousin H. Wait until she explains all of this with parks shut down to him!

So sorry to hear this, but thanks for letting us know, Figgy.

Heard of Jekyll Island and a certain meeting that took place there? We had central banks on and off in our history. Andrew Jackson actually abolished the second central bank. Abe Lincoln and Kennedy were both against central banks.
Oh, I only know that tidbit because of Hamilton. 😂 I've gotten more into the American Revolution period because of Hamilton. He really was fascinating. In between I have more gaps in my knowledge. It's like I have lots of knowledge about the American Revolution, then not a lot from 1800 on, and then a ton about World War II. Civil War and in between I guess I just didn't find as interesting, so I didn't pay as much attention.

@StarWarsGirl can you explain all of this in a rap so it is kinda authentic to the musical Hamilton? 😂

He and I worked well together. Group projects in college...there was a lot of whining about that...as others on this thread can tell you about. 😂😂😂

So in college is it any different then? Are there still students who don't do there share of the work?

I know in high school with group projects there is always that one student in the group who wants to get away without doing nothing. You would think it was me, but it's not. I do my share.

I'm sure she's hanging out with our dearly departed Cuz tossing back a few and he'd be helping her back to her room at Poly in heaven and the parks are open there
